Biography
The birthplace of actor Sergei Golovanov was the village of Novo-Kharitonovo near Moscow, in which he was born on October 8, 1909. The childhood of our hero was not much different from the childhood of other rural boys, from an early age accustomed to independence and the need to help parents in the maintenance of the household.
In Novo-Kharitonovo, as in any village, first of all, hard work was appreciated, and only then the ability to dance or play the harmonica. Therefore, after graduation, Sergei, until then completely not thinking about an artistic career, entered the ceramic school. In 1928, a 19-year-old graduate of the school, Golovanov got a job at one of the glass enterprises of the city of Moscow, having worked there until 1933. It was then, during the practical application of the knowledge gained at the ceramic school, in the life of Sergei Golovanov that the theater first appeared. The cultural life of the capital was in full swing, and the young man, who began to attend various performances more and more often, soon literally fell ill with the theater.

At first, Sergei, who did not have any special education, played in amateur amateur troupes in his spare time from work. By 1933, he fully realized his mission in life, left the plant and became an actor in the theater studio "Construction", for four years of work in which he gained experience and proved himself quite well. This allowed him to enroll in the troupe of the Morflot Theater in 1937, and a year later to get a job at the First Collective Farm Theater in the capital, from which Sergey Golovanov volunteered for the front in 1941. However, he didn’t really have to fight, because already in 1942 he was sent to the front-line theater, in which he performed until 1949, after which he became an actor in the Drama Theater troupe of the Western Group of Soviet Forces in Germany.

Golovanov returned to Moscow only in 1953. By this time, 44-year-old Sergey Petrovich, who managed to get the high title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR, turned into a respectable actor with an innate aristocracy and an article. Despite the fact that he always dreamed of working at the Moscow Art Theater, fate decreed otherwise, and ultimately Golovanov became an actor in the Moscow Theater Studio, a film actor, to whose service he devoted many years. On his account, roles in such performances as The Missouri Waltz, Vassa Zheleznova, The Living Corpse, Ivan Vasilievich, Wormwood, and many others.

As Olga herself later recalled, due to such a difference in age, she was often embarrassed in her childhood to walk with her father, since many mistook him for the girl’s grandfather.
