Biography

Actor Ivan Verkhovykh was born in the Saratov region, in the village of Samoilovka. Married to Larisa Parfentieva. He began his creative activity in the USSR. In 1978, he received the specialty of an actor at the Saratov Theater School. I.A.Slonova. After graduating from college, he worked for 8 years in the Saratov Youth Theater (at that time it was the only theater in the world designed for young spectators).

In 1990, he completed his studies at the correspondence department of the directing department of the Boris Schukin Theater Institute at the Yevgeny Vakhtangov State Academic Theater. Ivan Verkhovykh created three theater studios, the team of which consisted of talented actors. They gave performances that enjoyed great success with the Saratov public. On November 20, 1988, he founded in the city of ATX ("Academy of Theater Arts"), which included eight capable students. I. Verkhovyh becomes its artistic director and director. After five years, the vice-mayor of the city of Saratov signed a decree on the adoption of the municipal status by the theater. During the fifteen years of the ATX's existence, the team had to change twenty-one rooms, but this did not affect the quality of the performances of the united “academicians”.

Ivan Verkhovykh is a true professional. His performances have always been distinguished by a good game and thorough preparation. The plays that he expertly directed as a director have always been distinguished by extraordinary, interesting, intricate plots. He undertook such complex performances as “Emigrants”, “When Five Years Will Pass” and others. The director was never afraid of difficulties and set the prose of S. Kozlov, D. Kharms, V. Kazakov, which are considered difficult works for stage production, so these performances were not seen in any other theater in Russia. The plays of Ivan Ivanovich, considered to be superbly organized, were especially popular. The Academy of Theater Arts, according to critics, is one of the most worthy troupe of the nineties. The team traveled with numerous tours throughout Russia and even received invitations to visit festivals of foreign countries. At the beginning of the two thousandth ATX, it was necessary to close due to poor financing from the city. But this did not affect the theatrical career of Ivan Ivanovich Verkhov.
