Advantages and disadvantages of weapons I. Ya. Stechkina

The pistol provided firepower and greater efficiency due to the length of the barrel and the large capacity of the store. The sound of the shot is much quieter than that of the PM. As indicated above, workmanship was top notch. However, with all this, the Stechkin pistol had its drawbacks. Due to the presence of a stock holster, it was heavy and bulky. The soldiers complained about the large size, insufficient power and inconvenience to wear. Therefore, it was decided to withdraw from production the famous weapons of I. Ya. Stechkin. They ceased to produce the pistol since 1958. Nevertheless, despite the identified shortcomings, he received recognition from special units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and is actively used by them to this day. And, for example, in Ukraine, employees of such special services as ALFA, TITAN, etc., are armed with this pistol.
