Pregnancy and childbirth, no doubt, give a woman the most wonderful status in the world - “mother”. Each, at least once giving birth, will remember the moment of the first touch of the baby’s skin for life. But, unfortunately, very often the pregnancy leaves behind an unpleasant “gift” in the form of settled extra pounds. Therefore, it is clear that most newly minted mothers are concerned about the problem of when you can play sports after childbirth in order to get rid of the effects of pregnancy. The question is important, because not only the success of the classes, but also the general physical condition of the woman who has just given birth depends on the right start.
When can I do sports after childbirth?
A return to previous volumes is always based on three factors - psychological, aspect of nutrition and aspect of sports. And if the first two factors are included in the recovery process from the first day of postpartum life, then the sports side of returning to the previous form requires mandatory coordination with a gynecologist.
After childbirth, the body is in a special condition. The uterus is in the process of “cleansing” (lochia) and contraction. In addition, do not forget about the possible presence of sutures that were imposed on the woman during childbirth due to episiotomy, the use of vacuum extraction and other medical procedures. Yes, and it is worth considering the very factor of childbirth, in which a woman puts great physical effort. All these factors are put together when assessing the moment when you can play sports after childbirth, which took place in vivo.
In general, you can start training already at 6 weeks after the birth of the baby. If stitches were placed during childbirth, the moment of the beginning of training should be agreed with the doctor observing the woman.
When can I do sports after cesarean section?
Caesarean section is a special delivery operation in which a baby is born by removing it through a small incision on the abdominal wall of the uterus. In this regard, a woman in labor is obliged to observe a special regime, which includes the correct distribution of physical activity.
When can I go in for sports after cesarean? Doctors do not give a single answer. As a rule, with a general satisfactory condition of the body and good fusion of the suture, light physical activity becomes permissible only after 2-3 (and according to some doctors, 6) months after surgery.
Postpartum Exercise
In fact, light physical activity, capable of exerting a noticeable effect on the figure, is available already at 2 weeks of a child's life. It consists in long walks in the parks (walking, not sitting on a bench). If a woman does not have pain, then half an hour twice a day will be enough until the end of the loch.
Since the cessation of blood discharge, you can begin to more labor-intensive recovery complexes. Exercise after childbirth is diverse. But a woman should focus on those that will help strengthen muscle tone, and only then move on to modeling the figure. Such exercises include: Skittle complex and exercises to strengthen the muscles of the back, buttocks, thighs and abdomen.
The load in the first few weeks should be insignificant, the duration of classes is no more than 15 minutes. At the same time, you should start with a single approach, repeating the exercise 4-5 times.
What should I look for when doing exercises? First, a woman should not have pain during exercise. If such are observed, then the exercise is not suitable for its power load and must be changed. Secondly, it is necessary to avoid the state of fainting - slight dizziness, “stars” in front of the eyes, increased pressure. The reasons for this condition can be different - from malnutrition to the unpreparedness of the body for training. In the event of the appearance of such symptoms, physical activity should be abandoned or a different pace and strength of training should be chosen, but already under the guidance of an experienced trainer.
When determining the moment when you can engage in sports after childbirth, two factors should be taken into account - the physical condition of the woman and medical permission to engage in sports. With a satisfactory condition, a set of exercises that allow you to return to the previous forms should be developed by a specialist and applied under his supervision.
