Ilya Shcherbinin is a Russian film actor, as well as a screenwriter, photographer and writer. Viewers could see him in many paintings, however, the television series “Chernobyl. Exclusion Zone ”is currently the most successful project in his filmography.
Life path
Ilya was born in the city of Novosibirsk on June 3, 1986. The boy spent almost all his childhood in the village of Togur, Tomsk Region. From an early age, he liked to read literary works and began to compose his own short stories. After some time, Ilya wrote a story that he called “Old Togur”. In childhood, the artist dreamed of connecting his life with the circus and becoming a clown, but later realized that his vocation is acting.
After leaving school, Ilya Shcherbinin returned to Novosibirsk and became a student at a theater school (course of A. Kuznetsov and T. Kocherzhinsky). Then, listening to the advice of his leader, he moved to Moscow and successfully entered one of the institutes of cinematography at the screenwriting faculty. Shcherbinin’s book “Old Togur” was included in the long list of the “Large prose” nomination for the “Neformat” award. In 2015, Ilya, in collaboration with his fellow student at VGIK A. Tyuzhenym, published a collection of scripts and works entitled “Non-specific”. The actor’s literary works were also evaluated by the Gennady Karpunin Prize and the Astafiev Foundation.

Ilya Shcherbinin made his debut in the drama "Wild Field" with a cameo role of Panki. Prior to that, he had experience working on the series "Autonomy", which was released in 2006. In the credits, the name of Elijah was not indicated. The next character of Shcherbinin was the bully in the melodrama Short Circuit, a young fighter from the drama television series Moscow Courtyard and Grushnitsky from the painting Pechorin. In 2011, the artist took part in the filming of the short film “Bird”. Later, Ilya Shcherbinin played the Queen in the detective melodrama "Your World" and Peter III in the documentary series "Romanovs".
With the premiere of the fantastic series “Chernobyl. Exclusion Zone ”the artist gained recognition of millions of spectators of post-Soviet countries. In the series, which currently consists of two seasons, Shcherbinin played Igor Matveev, who was originally called Podcast. The last few years, the actor has been married. Ilya Shcherbinin met his beloved, who is also a screenwriter by training, in 2013. The name of the spouse, the actor does not disclose. It is known that the couple lives in Moscow.
