Actor Andreev Boris: childhood
A man who was to become one of Stalin's favorite actors was born in Saratov, this event happened in February 1915. Actor Andreev Boris is not a native of the famous cinematic dynasty. The parents of the Soviet movie star were simple workers, so he had to achieve everything in life, relying only on his talent.
The boy spent the first years of his life with his family in Saratov, then his parents moved to Atkarsk, where the child went to school. As a schoolboy, he did not stand out from the crowd of peers, he studied medium, but was not a bully and truant.
Moving to Saratov
Many celebrities who have achieved success, almost from birth, knew who they would become in adulthood. Actor Andreev Boris is not one of these lucky ones, he did not immediately realize his mission. Having received a certificate, the young man went to Saratov, promising his parents to become a student in an agricultural technical school, but fate decreed otherwise.
In those days, the Volga combine plant was under construction in Saratov, the scale of which Andreev was impressed with. After talking with local builders, Boris changed his mind about submitting documents to the agricultural technical school. The guy graduated from courses that allowed him to acquire the specialty of a fitter-electrician as soon as possible, then got a job at the factory.
Choosing a Life Path
Actor Boris Andreev theoretically could forever remain a simple worker, but he was lucky. Shortly before the appearance of the young man in Saratov, the plant, of which he became an employee, acquired his own drama circle. A talented director Ivan Elephants acted as a teacher. Accidentally falling into rehearsal, the young man became interested in the work of the drama club and, without much effort, convinced Slonov to accept him among the participants.
Elephants - the first person who happened to understand how talented Boris Fedorovich Andreev. It was this director who convinced his student to become a student at the Saratov Theater College. The young man could not allow himself to quit work at the factory because of the need for money, so he was forced to combine his studies with the duties of a fitter and electrician.
The first months of student life nearly turned into a nervous breakdown for Andreev, it was incredibly difficult to combine work and study. Fortunately, the management of the enterprise where Boris worked, went to meet the talented young man, forbidding him to be put on night shifts. As a result, the future famous actor successfully graduated from college.
Fateful meeting
Not only talented, but also lucky person was Boris Andreev. The biography of the artist says that the young man accidentally got a role in the film "Tractor Drivers", which gave him the first fans, including Stalin. After graduating from college, he joined the troupe of the Saratov Drama Theater, but did not have time to prove himself on his stage. The reason for this was the invitation received from random acquaintances to come to audition for the painting "Tractors".
Ivan Pyryev, director of Tractor Drivers, initially did not like Boris. Imagining a master who had already made a name for himself in the cinema, the young man saw an imposing, fashionably dressed man. Pyryev turned out to be a fussy, nervous middle-aged man, dressed extremely casually. The first impression was not correct, Andreevâs collaboration with the director was very fruitful.
The people who invited the aspiring actor to the test were convinced that he could play the hero-lover Klim Brightly. However, Pyryev said that Boris Fedorovich Andreev should embody the image of Nazar Duma, as "he was born in order to play this character."
Movie debut
"Tractor drivers" is a film thanks to which a novice actor first appeared on the set. It is not surprising that for a long time he could not stop embarrassing. The role that he had to play turned out to be complex, characteristic, Nazar Duma - one of the central characters of the tape.
Of course, the more experienced colleagues at first tried to make fun of the newcomer. However, the owner of a heroic build and exuberant disposition was able to stand up for himself, so the ridicule quickly stopped. Already in the middle of the filming process, Andreev began to feel more relaxed on the set. He perfectly succeeded in the image of Nazar Duma, his character was not lost among the other main characters, despite the fact that they were played by recognized stars of Soviet cinema.
The picture "Tractor drivers" appealed to the audience; the status of rising stars was acquired by many artists who starred in it, including Boris Andreev. Films in which he was invited after the release of "Tractors": "Shchors", "Fighters", "Valery Chkalov." The number of fans of a talented actor slowly but surely increased.
War years
âTwo Fightersâ is a film in which Andreev was able to shine in 1943. This picture was able to not get lost in a huge number of tapes, shot specifically in order to maintain the fighting spirit of the soldiers. The main characters were close friends - Arkady (the image embodied by Mark Bernes) and Alexander. Boris presented his âSasha from Uralmashâ as a kind, optimistic person who knows how to amuse others.
âTwo fightersâ is far from the only picture in the filming of which Andreev took part in the harsh war years. You can recall other fascinating films with his participation: âI am a Chernomoretsâ, âMalakhov Kurganâ. Basically, the directors entrusted him with the roles of heroic Soviet soldiers, courageously defending their homeland, ready to sacrifice their lives in order to achieve a lofty goal. Does he need to say that the actor managed such roles superbly.
"Big family"
âBig Familyâ - a film by Heifitz presented to the audience in 1954, in which Andreev also starred. The actorâs character is the head of the middle generation of the Zhurbin family, a person who is characterized by such qualities as simplicity and directness, hatred for window dressing.
The picture turned out to be ârevolutionaryâ for that time, since simple human feelings, love for family and children, and not the production process, as was customary in those years, were highlighted. It is not surprising that the film made a lasting impression on thousands of viewers, and the actor Boris Andreev, who played Ivan Zhurbin, became a real star.
Russian hero
The film "Ilya Muromets", which saw the light in 1956, was another creative success for the actor. The picture was entered in the Guinness Book of Records as one of the most ambitious works of Soviet cinema. It is known that during the filming 11 thousand horses were used. Also, special effects unprecedented by Soviet viewers and tricks were applied.

Of course, Boris Fedorovich Andreev played the famous Russian hero who throws the plow, takes up his sword and sets off to defeat evil. In the midst of filming, a funny incident took place. A policeman with a heroic complexion accidentally appeared on the site. The man began to speak sarcastically about the strength of Andreev, assuring that he would play Ilya Muromets much more convincingly. The hot-tempered actor lifted his offender into the air and threw him into the sea (work was carried out on the beach). After reading the article the next day in a local newspaper about a crazy artist attacking law enforcement officials, Boris vowed never to be in Yalta again. It is curious that he kept his word given to himself.
Life partner
The man who played Ilya Muromets very convincingly throughout his life loved to challenge others and himself. It is hard to believe, but the actor even got married to a âdisputeâ. One day, riding a trolleybus in the company of his best friend, he announced that he would marry the first girl who entered the cabin. The âhappy womanâ was the black-browed beauty Galina, who entered the trolley at the next stop. Keeping a promise, the actor met her, persuaded to let her go home.
After several visits, Boris Andreev made an offer to his beloved. The girlâs family was categorically against for some time, especially the father objected, who knew about the scandalous reputation of the groom. However, the actor managed to convince the girl's parents, in the end they allowed the young people to get married. Galina remained a faithful companion of "Ilya Muromets" throughout his life.
Of course, fans are interested not only in the woman with whom Boris Andreev spent his whole life, the children of the star are also curious. It is known that only one child was born in the actorâs family - a son. His wife Galina did not work throughout her life, preferring to take care of the house, look after her husband and child, and then help her son and daughter-in-law with her grandchildren.
Age roles
Already in the early 60s, the actor began to offer mainly age-related roles, to which he reacted calmly. Among the most striking images created by him during this period, it should be noted Baukina, whom Boris played in the film "Cruelty." Also, an indelible impression on the audience was made by the film âThe Way to the Pier,â in which he embodied the image of the sullen boatswain Wolverine.
The film âOptimistic Tragedyâ was a huge success largely due to the talented play of Andreev. In this tape, the actor embodied the image of the commander of a naval detachment, whom his comrades nicknamed "Leader." The plot of the drama was borrowed from the work of the same name by Vishnevsky. Boris's contribution was awarded the State Prize.
Death
The actor died in April 1982, the cause of death was a heart attack. The actor was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery, thousands of people came to say goodbye to such a talented person as Andreev. Boris Jr. (the son of a star) said that his father did not manage to realize all his dreams during his lifetime. For example, he never played King Lear, although for many years he dreamed about this role.
It is also known that the famous actor foresaw his death. In his last days, he complained to his son of extreme fatigue, imagined his near end. Boris Jr. did not take his words seriously, but his father was right. In recent years, Boris Andreev has practically not been shot, films with his participation were rarely released, the roles were mostly episodic.
Best friend
It is known that throughout life, the actorâs best friend remained Peter Aleinikov. Andreev first met this famous actor on the set of his debut film "Tractor Drivers." Noting the similarity of characters, young people have since maintained friendships, often spending time together. Often they allowed themselves to get drunk and arrange fights, which were fun later to remember.
It is curious that it was Aleinikov who turned out to be the person with whom Boris argued that he would marry the first young lady who entered the trolleybus. However, the actorâs wife didnât like his friend, as he âbadly influenced himâ. Andreevâs love for a friend was so great that he even âlostâ his grave to him. Peter dreamed of being buried in the Novodevichy cemetery, but getting a place was extremely difficult. When the comrade died, Andreev managed to get a place that was intended for him as an honored artist. He allowed himself to be buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery, which was done.
Aphorisms
The man who played "Ilya Muromets" was extremely sharp on the tongue, many of his statements are preserved in history. âDo not think that you are the best or the worstâ - the famous phrase, which is authored by Boris Andreev. The actor came up with aphorisms easily, without making efforts.
Of course, the above is not the only quote from a Soviet movie star worthy of attention. âMan is a creature overcomingâ is another well-known phrase that Boris Andreev liked to utter in various situations, whose aphorisms were carefully recorded by contemporaries.
The actor liked to repeat that a person who does not strive for anything can no longer be called alive. He also said that excellent leaders come from people who can do absolutely nothing. Finally, actor Andreev Boris liked to repeat that only that person who needs a lot of people can consider himself independent.
