A weapon license allows ordinary citizens of the Russian Federation to carry this same weapon with them. Previously, its use was permitted exclusively for shooting at a shooting range or for hunting. Getting permission
There are several basic steps that must be taken in order to obtain a license to purchase. The weapon does not tolerate a superficial approach, therefore it is recommended that you first study all the regulatory documents associated with it. In particular, they include the Weapons Act and the Criminal Code. In the latter case, special attention should be paid to article No. 37. After that, you should contact any suitable police station to clarify the current location of the department, by which a weapon license can be obtained. After this information is received, you should visit the arms store. It is necessary to select the weapon you like and check with the seller exactly what type of license is required for its use. Separately, it is worth determining exactly what it will be used for, and finding out the sizes. They are needed to buy a safe. Without it, obtaining a license will be impossible. It should be remembered that the safe must be purchased and installed until all necessary documents are completed. Among other things, it should correspond in size to the desired type of weapon, and even better so that its dimensions are slightly larger. This is no longer a requirement, but it will make storing weapons more comfortable.
After all this has been prepared, it is necessary to collect all the required documents, which will be described in more detail below. Reasons to refuse
A license to self-defense weapons is not issued to everyone. Article No. 9 of the Law on Weapons referred to above indicates that the applicant must be at least 18 years old, provide exclusively correct data and all required medical certificates. Not all types of civilian weapons need special paperwork. But there are few such options - only 4 pieces. This amount includes training courses, the price of which is within 5 thousand rubles. All medical certificates will cost about 1200 p. The rest will be spent on getting a hunting ticket (about 500 rubles), paying a state duty (depending on the type of weapon) and paying for the application form. Features of license renewal
A document authorizing the possession of weapons is issued for 5 years. Naturally, most often it will be necessary to extend it further. Refusal to renew

Naturally, weapons are also seized, and the license is revoked when committing a crime or serving a sentence. If breakages are detected, a specific period is given for their elimination. If a weapon license has expired , an extension will no longer be possible. It is urgently necessary to annul it and a year later to draw up a new one (if allowed). In this case, you will also have to provide all the standard documents, except for the confirmation of the training.
Payment renewal
