Andrey Sklyarov: biography before research
The future director, researcher and publicist was born in 1961 in Moscow. His specialty is in no way connected with history or cinema, as one might expect. From his youth he was fascinated by space, and the future famous writer and researcher went to receive education in the corresponding specialty. A graduate of a technical university, a physicist, until the beginning of the 90s he worked at the country's enterprises related to the space industry. In 1993, Andrei Sklyarov began commercial activities, and later began researching the unknown.
First interest and first discoveries
As the director Andrei Sklyarov himself admits, he did not work out with history in the school. She did not arouse much interest in the presentation of teachers. Memorization of dates and events seemed to be a matter devoid of logic, and therefore meaningless. In general, this subject of the school curriculum did not find a response in the young soul. Friendship did not arise at the institute.
Already at the end of the "era of stagnation", when curiosity began to appear in society about previously forbidden, closed topics, Andrei Sklyarov showed an interest in history in a very unusual way. Alternative views, the religious-philosophical and esoteric orientation of historical research were new, because before these ideas were contrary to the materialistic doctrines of Soviet science, and therefore were forbidden. However, it was this side of history, its spiritual and philosophical aspects, that became attractive to Sklyarov the researcher.
For a deeper knowledge of the subject, he had to plunge headlong into the study of not only history, but also other humanities and natural sciences, such as sociology, biology, psychology, and, of course, philosophy.
"Fundamentals of the physics of the spirit": journalism or philosophy?
The desire to explore the spiritual aspects of the development of cultures and civilizations required the study of the corresponding esoteric and religious-philosophical literature, both eastern and western. The result of this study was the first book of Andrey Sklyarov, "Fundamentals of the physics of the spirit." Its first edition was published in 2000, since then several reprints have followed, and today it is popular among fans of alternative philosophy.
Andrei Sklyarov himself positions it as a philosophical treatise in which he considers the idea of the unity of the material and spiritual worlds from a rational and purely scientific point of view. The book finds a completely scientific explanation of many well-known phenomena, which are usually called paranormal. This work was followed by others: books, articles, lectures in which this topic somehow found its continuation.
For his literary work, the researcher was awarded the Golden Pen of Russia international award and became the "Best author of the new millennium."
Acquaintance with the pyramids and the first film
In 2004, the author of the sensational treatise ended up in the role of a field researcher for his debut. The first expedition of researchers-enthusiasts was very successful in Egypt and, as the director himself later admitted, literally stunned the participants with his discoveries. Its purpose, of course, was the famous necropolis of Giza and the millennial pyramids.
The result of the expedition was the film "Forbidden Topics of History: Mysteries of Ancient Egypt", where Andrei Sklyarov acted as a screenwriter and director. His first cinematic work presents another look at the well-known and, it would seem, sore mouth even for lovers of antiquity topic of secrets of the ancient pyramids. The focus of the researcher this time was on the technical and technological features of the buildings of Giza. Despite the hackneyed theme, the film turned out to be bright and fascinating. A new look at historical facts through the prism of technical features and characteristics, an original interpretation, lively presentation made the tape interesting and informative for a wide audience.
Sklyarov as a director and his filmography
Andrey Sklyarov makes films dedicated not only to Ancient Egypt, but also to other civilizations. The interests of the director are very extensive. His research also touched on the mysteries of biblical traditions, such as the mystery of the Ark and the Tower of Babel. He did not disregard the secrets of the civilizations of pre-Columbian America, he even dug up in the pre-Dink era. At the sight of his lens were the disappeared civilizations of the East, and the legendary mythical Atlantis.
The director continued the series “Forbidden Topics of History” with such films as “Geometry of the Universe from Different Points of View”, “Unknown Mexico”, “Peru and Bolivia Long Before the Incas”, “Ark of the Covenant: Ethiopian Trail”, “Promised Land”.
In parallel with it, the second series of films “Secrets of History” appeared, which includes the tape “Pyramids. Legacy of Atlantis ”,“ Technologies of the ancient gods ”,“ Dinosaur - a friend of man? ”.
Paleocontact version
Andrei Sklyarov’s films are an interweaving of well-known historical facts, alternative views on mythology, history, original interpretations of primary sources and artifacts. As a supporter of the paleocontact version, the director actively promotes the idea of the existence of a once more developed civilization on earth. Following Erich von Daniken, he sees the proof of this version in the existence of gigantic cyclopean structures of antiquity, the building technologies of which are often difficult even for modern technical thought.
Another confirmation of the presence of extraterrestrial intelligence on our planet in prehistoric times, according to an alternative historian, is ancient myths and legends telling about heavenly gods. This, according to the researcher, is one of the direct evidence of the action of extraterrestrial beings.

“LAI”, or “Laboratory of Alternative History”, is Andrei Sklyarov’s favorite brainchild, one of the largest Internet projects dedicated to secrets and not yet explained phenomena of ancient history.
Here you can find the most complete library of articles, books and abstracts of both the project manager and founder, as well as other authors known in this field. Portal "LAI" exists not only online. The organizers and participants of the project regularly organize visiting conferences, organize expeditions.
The huge plus of the work of this project is the large and interesting photo archives of the expeditions. Andrey Sklyarov provides the photo openly, in fact, in the public domain on the LAI official website. The Laboratory of Alternative History, as well as the Third Millennium Science Development Foundation, of which he is also a director, considers the main goal to popularize and develop alternative approaches to the study of history.
