Gilbert Knightray is a calm and silent guy. As a child, he was modest and obedient, because the pranks of Oz Bezarius greatly confused the boy. Gilbert is taken into the house of Bezarius as a servant for the growing young heir Oz. At first, the child is secretive and fearful; he often cries. Despite the fact that he often flies for Oz's mischief, Gil quickly becomes attached to an active and open master. They become friends. Seeing how cold his father is to Oz, Gil tries to comfort the boy.
At the Oz Bizarious maturity ceremony, when the Baskervilles attack, Gil tries to protect Oz, but he is injured. As a result, he is thrown into the Abyss.

In the process of searching for Alice's memories, his own return to Gilbert. When Jack Bezarius takes possession of Oz's body , by order of Glen Gilbert shoots Oz.
