Our planet Earth has an excellent water system. Of course, these are oceans, seas, rivers and lakes. Thanks to this water supply, life on the mainland is possible. In this article, I would like to consider those streams that are part of the Pacific Ocean basin. Rivers mainly originate high in the mountains. They are full-flowing and fast. The relief of the channels is quite complex, characterized by the presence of a large number of rapids. On its way, streams crash into rocky massifs and wash away clastic rocks. Their food is mainly rain, only in the northeast - snow.
With a fast flow, almost all the rivers of the Pacific basin. The list of watercourses data is headed by r. Anadyr and r. Amur. They are considered the most significant for the Russian state and the largest. There are also other rivers that flow in China and other countries. In total there are about forty.
So, let's look at some rivers belonging to the Pacific basin.
Anadyr River
It is located in the north-east of Russia, on the Chukotka Peninsula. Its source originates from the lake, which is located in the middle of the Anadyr plateau. The length of the river is about 1,100 km, and the basin area is approximately equal to 191 thousand square meters. km The Chukotka River has large tributaries, there are six in all: Yablon, Eropol, Main - the right, and Chineyveem, Belaya, Tanyurer - the left. From September to April, the river is icebound - first upstream and then downstream. The flora and fauna of the water area forms the Pacific basin.
The rivers of this region are of great importance to the state. For example, Anadyr is used as shipping, but only for small vessels. Industrial fishing is also developed here, but only at the source and in the lower reaches. Amateur fishing competitions are held upstream. The coastline of the river is rich in coal.
Amur river
The length of the river channel of 2875 km and the basin area of ββmore than 4 thousand kilometers determine its location in three countries - these are Russia, China and Mongolia. Cupid begins at the confluence of the Argun and Shilka streams. The source of the river Argun is located in Mongolia, and Shilka originates in the Chita region.
Like many other rivers in the Pacific, Amur has a lot of tributaries, but seven of them are distinguished: Zeya, Ussuri, Sungari, Anyui - right, and Bureya, Amgun, Tunguska - left.
This river is covered with ice for almost 6 months, approximately from November to April - May. It is bottled during the summer monsoons, which occur in July - August. The river is used in large shipping, industrial and amateur fishing, and is also a border zone.
Yellow river
The Yellow River flows in China. As mentioned above, all water flows entering the Pacific basin are mountain-type rivers. The Yellow River is no exception. Its source is in the Tibetan mountains, it carries its waters along the Great Plain of China to the Bohan Bay in the Yellow Sea. The river is also called yellow due to the fact that loesses, which are washed out from the rocky territories, give it the corresponding color. The main tributaries of the river are Dasia, Tao, Weihe and Lohe.
Use the Yellow River mainly in agriculture, for irrigation. A large number of hydroelectric power plants have been built along the banks, aquaculture is developing, and only the plain territory of the river is suitable for shipping. The main problem is the frequent change of the channel.
Yangtze River
The Yangtze Riverbed is located in China and its length is 6300 km, so its other name is the Long River. It is worth noting that basically the rivers of the Pacific basin are quite full-flowing. The Yangtze is the world's third largest water flow in terms of fullness. The source of the river is located in the eastern part of the Tibetan Plateau, at an altitude of more than 5 thousand km. It flows, like the Yellow River, along the Great Plain of China and flows into the East China Sea, where Shanghai is located, by delta.
The Yangtze tributaries are quite large rivers - these are Mingjiang, Tuo, Jialingjiang, Hanshui, Yalongjiang. Monsoon nutrition, and in the upper reaches a small percentage of snow and ice. Only relatively calm upper reaches of the river freeze, and then only for a short time.
Economic use of the Yangtze:
- shipping shipping network (Yangtze is connected to the Yellow River Canal);
- irrigation system;
- industrial fishing, etc.
Mekong River
The Mekong River is the largest river of six states (China, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia), which is located on the Indochina Peninsula. She enters the Pacific. Rivers of mountain origin are characterized by rapid currents and turbulent character. This is how the Mekong stream can be characterized.
The length of the river is 4.5 thousand km, and the area is a little more than 800 thousand square meters. km The source is located in the Tibetan Plateau, on the Tangla Range. In the upper reaches the river with numerous rapids, and in the lower forms a large number of bends. An interesting feature of the stream is that it connects to Lake Tonle Sap, so that they feed each other.
The Mekong is important in transport shipping, even sea vessels go deep into the peninsula, since the lower reaches of the river have sufficient depth.
