The story of the film
In "300 Spartans" actors on the roles were selected very carefully. But even more efforts were made by crew members to create costumes and various attributes reflecting ancient times. They were created, of course, not in real life, but through computer graphics.
How was the film 300 Spartans created? The actors had to play their roles against the background of the blue screen, which seemed to many of them rather strange and unusual. There was no connection with the outside world, just a partner on the set. True, still one scene was shot not in the pavilion, but in the open air. But here, many elements have been changed.

Plot
The events of the picture take place in 480 BC. The huge army of King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) launched an attack on Greece. The king of Sparta Leonid (Gerard Butler) with his retinue met Persian politicians who immediately demand an oath of allegiance to King Xerxes from Persia. Otherwise, a terrible death awaits them all. Not succumbing to the intimidation of distant guests, brave Spartans deal with them, throwing them into a deep well.
The oracles predict the brave Leonid’s defeat in a fierce battle, but the king does not intend to listen to anyone and goes to the gorge to intercept a huge army of Persians. A squad of Spartans blocks the path of enemy soldiers in a strategically important place that is impossible to get around. It is called the Fire Gate or Farmapilsky Gorge.
Proud Leonid does not accept the help of a local resident named Efialta. The hunchback wanted to fight side by side with the soldiers on the front line, and instead received permission only to care for the wounded soldiers from the battlefield. In despair, left out of work, he throws out his weapon, which he kept for many years. The Persians approach the strategically important gate and offer for the last time to lay down their swords and spears. What receive a categorical refusal.

The brave warriors of Sparta beat off one after another waves of attacks, surpassing them in the number of Persian soldiers. Xerxes, astounded by the courage of Leonid and his fighters, offers him high rank and authority for a peace agreement, but again receives a categorical refusal. None of the brave warriors of Sparta is going to give up and intends to fight to the last drop of blood. In their incredible country, they absorbed a sense of courage and dignity with their mother’s milk and are not going to bow their heads to any, even the most powerful, adversary. Better proud death than humiliating defeat.
