The iliac region looks like a wide and flat cavity. In itself, pain in the right iliac region, as well as in the left, is not an independent disease. The same applies in general to any pain, wherever they arise.

Up to 20% of cases of visits to medical institutions with complaints of cramping pains in the lower right are the result of acute appendicitis.
Pain gradually increasing may indicate the presence of inflammatory processes in the relevant organs. With periodically worsening pains, an impression of a cramping nature can be created.
