Iliac - pain

The iliac region looks like a wide and flat cavity. In itself, pain in the right iliac region, as well as in the left, is not an independent disease. The same applies in general to any pain, wherever they arise.

Pain is a symptom of pathology. It is the iliac region that often bothers many patients. Especially often complaints of pain in the area come from women. Such pains are both of a prolonged nature, and fleeting. They can be aching, weak or strong.

Moreover, in certain people, such symptoms appear at different times of the day for no apparent reason. Other patients associate the occurrence of pain with external factors. For example, a symptom has arisen as a result of a rise in weight or even as a result of prolonged constipation.

The left iliac region may signal pain for certain gynecological reasons:

Symptoms Diagnostics

It must be remembered: pain in the iliac region on the right may indicate the presence of pathology of the appendix, genitals, or right kidney. The pain at first may not be clearly localized, but later manifest itself more clearly in a certain place. For example, with appendicitis, pain sometimes begins in the navel or in the epigastric region.

Severe pain in the abdomen can occur as a result of extraperitoneal pathologies. In particular, in children, the stomach often hurts due to infectious diseases such as scarlet fever. Other symptoms of infection, such as rashes, appear later. Also , abdominal pain is accompanied by acute respiratory viral infections, influenza and other infections.

The nature of the pain in diagnosis is critical. For example, if it is a pain of a cramping nature, then perhaps it signals spasms of smooth muscles, renal and hepatic colic, or bowel obstruction. Up to 20% of cases of visits to medical institutions with complaints of cramping pains in the lower right are the result of acute appendicitis.

Pain gradually increasing may indicate the presence of inflammatory processes in the relevant organs. With periodically worsening pains, an impression of a cramping nature can be created.

Hint : Remember that only the appropriate specialist can establish a diagnosis. If acute pain in the iliac region occurs, call an ambulance.
