Alexey Bugaev is a former Russian footballer who is most remembered for his game for Torpedo and Tom. Today he is 35 years old - he completed his career quite early. But when he was still playing, he played in the position of central defender.

Alexey Bugaev was born on August 25, 1981 in Moscow, where he began to play football, as a result of which he ended up at the Torpedo Academy in Moscow. It was there that he trained all his childhood, in his teens he played for youth squads of various age categories, and in 1999, when he was eighteen years old, the football player signed a professional contract with the club. Alexei Bugaev, however, was not a great talent, so for a long time he played for the club's double - he was able to debut for the main team only in 2001. He played two matches, after which he was leased to Tom.

The remaining half of the season, Bugaev spent in “Tom”, having played only six matches, but in 2002 he fully revealed. Alexey Bugaev is the football player who performed best in this club, and it was then that it became clear that he still had certain abilities. In the 2002 season, he was a base player, spent 30 matches for Tom, so Alexey’s home club was interested in getting him back.

He began to have increased pressure, which came along with increased attention, but this did not prevent him from having a successful season at Torpedo, having entered the field 24 times and even having scored two goals. The next season, he played a little less - only 20 matches, and then it became clear that even taking into account all the abilities of the young player, he did not fit the Torpedo team. Therefore, in 2005, he moved to another Moscow club, Lokomotiv.
Bad period at Lokomotiv
However, Alexei Bugaev, whose biography did not revolve exclusively around Torpedo and Tomi, managed to play for other clubs, one of which was Lokomotiv. But it can hardly be said that this was a successful period - for the whole year the footballer appeared on the field only 13 times, so by the end of the season he was already looking for options to continue his career. And the offer of Tomi turned out to be the most attractive - in fact it was that club in which the defender's talent was revealed to the greatest extent.
Return to Tom
So, in 2006, “prodigal son” Alexey Bugaev returned to Tom. The footballer was immediately at the base and began to show the previous game at a fairly high level corresponding to the level of the club. In the first year, he entered the field 28 times, noting one goal, and in 2007 spent twenty matches. The 2008 season was the least successful - during which Bugaev entered the field in just 9 fights, and after that his collaboration with Tomyu came to an end. Instead of going uphill, the career of a football player rolled down, but Krasnodar agreed to take it for two years under its wing.
Last club
In 2009, Bugaev played only 14 matches for a new club, with which he signed a contract, and in 2010 he appeared on the field even less often - in total for two seasons he spent only 20 matches for the club. When his contract with Krasnodar came to an end, Bugaev, who at that time was only 30 years old, decided that he would end his career as a professional football player.
Team appearances
If you look at the career of Bugaev, it may seem that she was not particularly successful. However, there was a period when he was even called up to the Russian national team - an honor that not all football players are honored with. In 2003, Alexey played one match for the Russian Olympic team, but the next year he received a promotion and was called up to the main team. In May 2004, Bugaev made his debut for the national team in a friendly match against the Austrian national team. And immediately after that a rather unexpected decision followed - the coach included Bugaev, who was at that time on the rise in Torpedo, but had no international experience at all, in the final application for the 2004 European Championship. Moreover, in two of the three matches of a major tournament, Alex appeared on the field - in fights against the national teams of Portugal and Greece. Then Alexey spent three more matches for the national team as part of the qualifying tournament for the 2008 World Cup, but did not stay longer in the national team.
In February 2005, he played in the last match for the national team - it was a friendly match with the Italian team, which the Russians lost with a score of 0: 2. Since then, Bugaev has not been called to the national team.
If we talk about Bugaev’s career, then there is an opinion that his talent was quite large, but he could not fully reveal it. And the reason for this was discipline problems caused by the constant use of alcohol. This led to the fact that Alex could disappear for a week and not appear in training, which resulted in far from the most brilliant career.
