Difficult childhood

Actor Yuri Kayurov grew up in the Vologda region, many generations of his family were hereditary peasants. The artist’s dad and mother also began their working life in agriculture. Later, by coincidence, they ended up in Cherepovets, then in Tikhvin.

Ivan Dmitrievich in these cities worked as a civil servant. In 1937 he was repressed, sent to prison, which was in the former Tikhvin monastery. Mother had two children in her arms, she worked as a teacher in a kindergarten. My father came out of captivity in 1939, miraculously avoiding being shot. After the outbreak of the war, Ivan Dmitrievich went to defend his homeland and soon died in the defense of Tikhvin.

Having left school in the seventh grade, he enters a vocational school, which was eventually evacuated to Vologda. In 1944, the guy got a turner at the Vulcan Leningrad plant. The main occupation at the plant is the grinding of mines and shells for the front. The artist himself wanted to get to the front line faster. As a result, he enters the Kuibyshev School of Naval Aviation.

Yuri met the victory of the Soviet troops over the Nazis at a military post in Kuibyshev. He finished his service in Leningrad (as a commandant on the famous cruiser Aurora). Yuri Ivanovich was demobilized in 1949, after which he submitted documents to the Ostrovsky Theater Institute. Kayurov thought about the acting profession during his service, accidentally falling into a theater studio, where he signed up without far-reaching plans. However, the stage classes were so carried away by the young man that he seriously began to think about his acting career.

At the university, Yuri Ivanovich Kayurov enters immediately on the second year due to the experience gained in a theater school. He falls into the class of the legendary actress of the Pushkin Theater (E. Time) and Professor Serebryakova.
