Bait features
It should be noted that preparing bait for carp is not difficult, but it must be remembered that not every one of them is suitable for one or another reservoir. Therefore, it often happens that a fisherman, before going to the store for a ready-made composition, experiments on his own original recipe, using only known combinations of ingredients.
Success is ensured if the fisherman explores the place of future fishing in advance, explores the bottom of the reservoir. It will directly depend on which specific bait for carp to use.
What matters is the way you plan to fish. For example, if you expect to catch fish on a feeder, then you will practically not need bait for carp. This is a favorite way for those who do not feel like messing around in the kitchen and cooking something for their future prey. The fact is that each feeder is equipped with a feeder, which is usually filled with bait immediately before the start of fishing.
Ways to catch carp
But bait carp fishing when using a fishing rod or elastic is simply necessary. What to choose? A great option for carp bait - steamed cake, a mixture of different grains. In this case, the fish bites perfectly. Also, as a bait for catching carps, you can use makuha, which is mixed with grain additives containing gluten. It is worth remembering that carp should be fed in advance, as well as directly during the fishing itself.
To do this, next to the bobber, toss the bait, rolling it into small balls the size of a children's cam. In autumn and spring, bloodworms and worms are considered the best bait for carp.
Bait tips
An important rule: you must carefully monitor the amount of bait in the pond. On the one hand, it should be sufficient to attract fish, and on the other hand, it should not be excessive so that the fish is not full.
Excessive bait can lead to the fact that fishing will be delayed for you for an indefinite time, for up to several days. However, some components may become unusable, such as sour. Their smell in this case will not attract fish, but only scare it away.
Variety of recipes
Be sure that there are a lot of recipes for bait for carp. Some of them can be used only in certain conditions, which can change several times even during one day. Therefore, experienced anglers can even have several types of bait, changing them depending on changes in climatic conditions.
The bait also differs in the features of the reservoir itself. For example, for a lake with stagnant water, a bait intended for a river with a fast current will not work.
Traditional bait
Among the traditional options for bait carp should be noted corn. At one time, it gained popularity due to the fact that it has an attractive color and taste, to which any carp is not indifferent. Moreover, it is easy to find on sale in almost any grocery store, and during cooking, it quickly reaches the required degree of softness. In experienced fishermen, its amount in bait can reach 60 percent.
Pellets are often used. This is a ready-made feed for fish, which can be found in any specialized store for anglers. It is not subjected to heat treatment, it can be dried at ordinary room temperature, and when it gets into a reservoir, it quickly collapses. The carp gets an attractive bait that has a corresponding smell. You can even try to buy special pellets for carps from sellers, which differs from other varieties in its high decay rate in water, especially its pungent odor and attractive color variety.
On an industrial scale, bait for carp is often made using special activators for biting. These are substances that have a beneficial effect on the appetite of the fish, improve its metabolism, prompting you to constantly be in search of a new portion of food.
Recently, such a bait as boilies is gaining popularity. With its appearance, it strongly resembles animal feed; carps often prefer it to many other options.
Carp bait recipes
Determine the recipe. Now there are many options for homemade bait for carp, which are effective and uncomplicated in execution.
For example, experienced anglers are advised to cut into small neat cubes of rye bread and dry it for some time in the oven at a temperature of 100 degrees. At the same time, it is important to ensure that the bread is in no way burnt. When it has dried sufficiently, allow time for it to cool sufficiently and send it to the meat grinder.
Grind the cubes, while simultaneously frying pumpkin seeds in a frying pan. Add them to the bread and grind too. A small amount of milk powder, a teaspoon of sugar, a pinch of salt and half a glass of egg powder should be added to the mixture of seeds with breadcrumbs . All this is thoroughly mixed, our bait is ready. Most carps cannot resist this mixture.
You only need to remember that when you come to a lake or a river, you need to add a little clay, sand and water to this bait. So it will be possible to give it the necessary consistency.
Millet bait
Do-it-yourself bait for carp can be prepared on millet. For this we need:
- breadcrumbs;
- powdered milk;
- 200 g raw millet;
- one chicken egg;
- three walnuts;
- bunch of dill.
Rinse this cereal and cook. Wait until it cools, only after that add breadcrumbs. Then mix everything thoroughly.
And that is not all. Now we add grated walnut to this mixture, it serves as an excellent flavoring, chopped dill. Stir thoroughly, pour in the raw egg and pour in a little milk powder. Here is your bait for carp at home and is ready.
Hercules for carp
Other cereals, such as Hercules, can also be used. To do this, prepare:
- Hercules flakes;
- 200 g of milk powder;
- six ground peanuts;
- 5 g of sugar;
- ground sunflower seeds;
- 100 g of egg powder;
- a pinch of salt;
- half a teaspoon of caraway seeds.
First you need to grind oat flakes of oatmeal, then add milk powder and egg powder to them. All this mixture is thoroughly mixed.
Preparing bait for carp with your own hands at home, grind sunflower seeds, peanuts and send them to a common container. Pour sugar, ground cumin seeds and salt there. Already on the fishing itself, before casting a fishing rod, add a worm, maggot or bloodworm, this will make your mixture only win-win. This bait must be rolled up into small balls and thrown into the water at the place where you expect to catch carp.
On oatmeal cookies
Very often come across very original bait for carp, with their own hands that everyone can cook at home. For example, take oatmeal cookies as a basis. True, it will require a lot - about one kilogram. But at the same time, you need to remember that not only carp, but also carp can peck at this bait.
To prepare such a universal bait, you will need to thoroughly grind about 500 grams of baked milk and mix it with oatmeal. At the same time, roast about 500 grams of peanuts, grind it in a meat grinder or blender and send to a common container. Pour one kilogram of breadcrumbs and cornmeal there (this is the one that works best).
Having mixed everything, we can add one and a half kilograms of corn grits and at least one kilogram of pre-crushed cereal. All these ingredients are thoroughly mixed again, they should turn into a practically homogeneous mass.
Having already arrived at the pond, add some water, giving the bait an appropriate consistency suitable for carp. If you want the fishing to go faster, you can add specialized flavors that are sold in fishing stores, or the so-called living components, that is, worms, bloodworms, maggots.
Another recipe that even a novice fisherman can handle in his kitchen. Boil a pot of water. Pour millet, wheat, corn grits, peas and barley into it. Cook for a while, stirring constantly.
At the very end, cover and let the mixture cool well. Already in cold porridge add semolina. When we arrive at a pond, do not forget about another component - soil from the banks of a river or lake. From the resulting top dressing, we make neat small balls and attract the fish to ourselves.
Wheat and corn
Corn and wheat are two classic ingredients used to make carp bait. They are especially indispensable in the autumn, when low temperatures can negatively affect the bite.
To prepare such a bait, you will need 500 grams of wheat and corn. Grains need to be presoaked in water for ten to twelve hours. Then add water to the container so that it is two to three times more than the cereal itself.
Place the pot on the stove and cook for at least 30 minutes. Pour another 500 grams of compound feed into the prepared mixture (best taken for poultry), as well as two raw chicken eggs.
Tips experienced
Remember that to go fishing for carp without having bait on hand is an extra waste of time. Therefore, if for some reason you do not have time to cook it at home or just be lazy, then use the alternative option - be sure to go to a specialized store. There is no need to save money, take only goods from well-known and trusted manufacturers so that your money does not turn into waste, and fishing trips are ruined by a complete lack of catch.
If you still decide to cook the bait yourself in your kitchen, choose not one, but several options. In this regard, carp is a very capricious fish, which may not respond to bait, which a few days ago perfectly pecked. It is especially important not to forget about this rule if you are traveling for the first time to a body of water unknown to you or to a river and a lake where you have not been for many years. In this case, you will not be able to determine exactly which bait carp will prefer today.
If you fish in paid reservoirs, then it will not be superfluous to ask the local staff what to feed the fish. Then, on the basis of this, cook your bait. It will work several times more efficient than bait prepared from components unfamiliar to carp.
One more tip: never be afraid to experiment. Recipes often change and modify, and for the better. Focusing on these issues is primarily on their own intuition, the behavior of fish and the characteristics of a particular reservoir. And use the variety of recipes that were invented before you as a basis, in which do not be afraid to add your own nuances and components.
