Actor Nodar Mgaloblishvili became known throughout the Soviet Union at one point, right after the release of the movie “Formula of Love”, in which he played Count Cagliostro. Despite the presence of eminent actors (Tatyana Peltzer, Leonid Bronevoy, Semyon Farada and Alexander Abdulov), the attention of the viewers was riveted on him - his high forehead and beautiful piercing eyes. He then seemed like some sort of wizard, having the ability to do absolutely everything. Who is he - Mgaloblishvili Nodar Aleksandrovich - a talented and such a mysterious actor?
Childhood
The future theater and film actor was born on July 15, 1931 in Georgia. The boy’s childhood was very difficult. The family lived poorly. It became much more difficult when my father became very ill. He lay unconscious for almost six months, and then died in April 1950.
Nodar was left alone with his mother. He had already graduated from school, now he had to make the right choice in the profession. From childhood, Nodar thought that his life is impossible without a stage or spotlights. And yet, having broken himself, he decided to choose a more mundane profession. After all, he so wants to help his mother! Therefore, having collected the documents, he passed them to the Georgian Polytechnic Institute, but cut off on the math, which was set as the first exam.
"I am a student!"
Much later, actor Nodar Mgaloblishvili said that, in the company of a friend who invited him to enroll in an acting school, he relates documents to the Tbilisi Theater Institute and ... a competition is taking place.
This was the beginning of his acting biography. At the institute, he was taught by renowned Georgian teachers and actors - Akaki Vasadze and Akaki Khorava. Then, in an interview, he said that over time, nevertheless, he lost his beautiful voice, which is why he never became a professional singer. But she still loves to sing at home, in the circle of friends. Moreover, he performs compositions in three languages - Georgian, Italian and Russian.
After graduating from the theater institute, Nodar Mgaloblishvili joined the troupe of the Tbilisi Academic Theater. Marjanishvili. It was in these walls that he was affirmed for the role of villains and heroes-lovers in various plays of Russian, Georgian and world classics. He liked the characteristic, even negative characters. He played Oswald in The Ghost, Teimuraz Khevistavi in The Collapse, Actor in The Bottom ... Here he worked for over twenty years. Despite many interesting roles, the most striking critics call the role of Iago in the unforgettable tragedy of Shakespeare "Othello." Real legends went about this role.
His movie life
Although Nodar Alexandrovich is a truly talented actor, he did not act in films much. By the way, and his roles were mainly in the background. Or in general - viewers could see their favorite actor only in episodes. And yet this artist, who has an outstanding appearance and deep expressive eyes, managed to be remembered by the audience in any roles.
His debut took place back in 1958 at the Georgia Film Studio. This is a comedy film directed by Shot Managadze called "The Last of Sabudar." Then there were still different filming, but immediately the audience of the actor did not particularly notice. But the 1980th brought him real success: Mgaloblishvili was approved for the role of Irakli Vasilyevich Nalbandov in the detective-adventure film "Ogareva, 6". He played the head of the OTC in the jewelry factory. Here it should be noted that important fact that this is the only time the actor himself voiced his character. The painting was popular for several years.
For those who want to learn as much as possible about their favorite actor, the following information will be useful. Nodar Alexandrovich has a very strong accent. Therefore, in all other Russian-language tapes he was voiced by colleagues in the workshop: Boris Smolkin, Igor Yasulovich, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Ivan Krasko, Boris Khimichev and others.
"Love Formula"
And then 1984 came. The year in which Nodar Mgaloblishvili, films with whose participation are the real pearls of Soviet and Georgian cinema, felt what suddenly fallen glory was.
Like many really good films and serials of the Soviet era, this film product immediately became a cult. The actors who went on the set immediately became famous. These include the hero of this article, and Elena Valyushkina, and Alexander Zakharova.
As a rule (and this has happened more than once), actors playing in films are forever remembered in the image of the characters played. For example, Boris Babochkin remained Chapaev, Leonid Bronevoy - Muller, and Mikhail Boyarsky - reckless Gascon d'Artagnan. The same happened with Mgaloblishvili.
Great magician
Having played this time the main role of the magician and sorcerer Count Cagliostro, who was at the same time the most charming scoundrel, he remained in human memory exactly to him - Giuseppe Cagliostro. Yes, the image of this real historical character, who, together with his wife Lorenza ( Elena Aminova played in her picture ), came to Russia in the distant 1778, now is connected only with Nodar Alexandrovich.
And the story was very simple: the great magician arrives in Russia in order to be represented by the highest nobility. Under the pretext of curing his father, the Count takes with him the young Maria Ivanovna, making every effort to fall in love with her. But nothing happens. Travelers accidentally find themselves in a provincial estate where a young man lives in love with a marble statue. He hopes with the help of a sorcerer to revive her. But the whole meeting with Masha is changing.
He and the rest ...
And yet, the genius of this actor lies in the fact that he has become much larger than Cagliostro. Nodar Mgaloblishvili presented the character he played with a huge psychological and semantic load. In the tape, he stood as if apart from other actors. It was thanks to his work that the film turned out to be truly cult. True, one cannot fail to note the entire acting ensemble that was occupied in it - Alexander Abdulov, Semyon Farada, Elena Valyushkina, Tatyana Peltzer, Alexander Mikhailov, Nikolai Skorobogatov, Leonid Bronevoy. Their contribution is hard to overestimate.
It was the joint work of all the actors, screenwriters, director and others involved in the creation of this little masterpiece that the musical comedy based on the story of Alexei Tolstoy's “Count Cagliostro” turned out to be truly popular.
Subsequent work
The same year 1984 brought the actor another interesting role. This time he played the raven king Karkaron in the film-tale of Boris Nebieridze "Ivanko and Tsar Poganin." Children of the eighties of the Soviet period knew the actor precisely as king Karkaron. They also called this tale.
It was a fairy tale about a boy Ivanko, whose mother Marichka and fellow villagers were once stolen by the servants of Tsar Poganin (played by Oleg Durov). Karkaron - the king of ravens - adopts Ivanko and gives him a new name - Crowmy. He prepares him as heirs. But the boy, growing up, is in a hurry to help his mother out of trouble, which turns out to be much more than he imagines. After all, mom is not only captured, she is also under the spell. And yet love, courage and friendship defeats witchcraft.
And exactly two decades later - in 2004 - Nodar Mgaloblishvili, whose biography is very full of different events, was shot in another fairy tale - modern. This was the story of the director Mikhail Levitin "Miracles in Reshetov." The actor was invited to the role of Koshchei the Immortal, calling himself in the world of ordinary people Konstantin the Immortals and working as the director of the circus.
That same Baron, that same Demon ...
Another round of actor’s popularity came in 2002, when the series “By the Name of Baron” was released, where he played the main role. Mgaloblishvili agreed to the shooting due to the fact that his character is at first glance negative, but with a very mixed character. He has his own ideas about honor and dignity. This was the story of a Jewish boy who joined the gypsy camp, later becoming a criminal authority. There are many episodes in this film, it can be called a movie saga because the story spans fifty years.
The role was played with great skill, his manner of playing was minimalistic, which is why I wanted to catch every look and every movement of the character. The audience not only understood the thief in law, but even sympathized with him.
The film was awarded the TEFI Prize, and Nodar Mgaloblishvili made a huge contribution to this victory.
In the summer of 2007, after the filming of the mystical series "Second to ...", where the actor played the Demon, he decided to stop filming. But after only four years, he continued his work, appearing in the series "Retribution" and the film "Notes of a chaste womanizer."
He still continues to act, despite his venerable age. But in a different way it is impossible: his salary as a leading actor in the theater is about $ 70 a month. Therefore, cinema is a means of making money. Although he loves theater more, he also acts in films.
A bit about personal
When the great and indestructible Soviet Union still existed, the creation of concert brigades with the goal of bringing culture to the masses was very popular. So, groups of artists with small concert programs traveled to small towns and villages. Their inhabitants were sincerely grateful to the audience for their work.
On one of these trips, Nodar Mgaloblishvili, whose personal life aroused interest among fans of his talent, and met his wife. Young people met day after day for exactly a year, and then they got married. Their only son was born in 1957.
Nodar Alexandrovich carried sincere love for his wife through his whole life. Even as a widow, the second time he did not think to create a new family. Today, says Nodar Mgaloblishvili, a family in rare interviews, and the most dear to him people - son, grandson and granddaughter. He is sure that it is necessary to love, because without this feeling there is neither life nor faith.
