Military-patriotic education at school

Homeland. This word has a great meaning and each of us puts something of our own, cherished in this unshakable concept. For centuries, people defended their Fatherland, increased its wealth and were proud of the glorious exploits of their ancestors. In order for our children to love their country and be able to protect it, there is a military-patriotic education that will help today's teenagers understand what the Motherland is and how dear to each of us. One of the components of this area of educational work is the formation and development of patriotism, without which a harmonious personality cannot take place .

Military-patriotic education consists of several components:

  • Knowledge of the valiant past of his people, of his military exploits in the defense of the invaders.
  • Military-patriotic sports games.
  • Close relationship between youth organizations (in schools, colleges, universities, work collectives) with military units.

Of course, patriotic education originates from the family. In those families where they sacredly honor the traditions of their ancestors, where a portrait of a grandfather-veteran hangs in a place of honor, where every year on May 9, children and their parents lay flowers at the graves of fallen soldiers, a sense of patriotism is already being developed.

Military-patriotic education in school should begin with the first class. You can learn songs with children that are dedicated to this topic and are available for their age. It is also recommended to talk about the past World War II, to visit military memorials with students. Children from childhood should know about the heroic past of their people. If the class teacher begins to visit the participants of the Great Patriotic War, the war in Afghanistan or other wars, bring food to them or provide home help, along with the children, this will develop a respect for children not only to people who shed their blood, but also to our Fatherland.

Military-patriotic education at school can give significant results if teenage children play military-sports games, for example, “Eaglet” or “Zarnitsa”. During such training, adolescents can not only physically develop, but also strengthen their fighting spirit and willpower. These games develop a sense of collectivism, which is not bad for our time. Endurance, industriousness, the ability to navigate and find a way out, sometimes the most extraordinary - this is far from everything that schoolchildren can learn during such games.

Military-patriotic education of youth should be a priority for any team involved in the training and education of children, future soldiers and defenders of their country. If you delve into history, then the ancient Spartans with great zeal approached the education of their youth. Many centuries have passed, but even today, military-patriotic education should take not less, but much more time than it was 30 or 40 years ago. Organize meetings with veterans together with the children, take them to memorials of military glory, invite our contemporaries-military men to talk with them about the service in the Armed Forces, about real male friendship and selfless love for their Fatherland. If military patriotic education is not given proper attention in our country, we will not be able to raise real men who can stand up for their family and homeland with arms in their hands.

In order not to lose hope for the formation of the personality of children, a military-patriotic education of young people is necessary, and maybe then we will have fewer abandoned children, deceived old people, deserted homeless people and cynical, unbridled teenagers who sweep away everything living in their path.
