The treatment room is necessarily organized in any children's clinic and on the basis of school and preschool institutions. In addition, vaccination centers are being made in hospitals, military units, and sanatoriums — in short, in various medical institutions providing procedural medical assistance to the population. In the article, we will consider how the work of the vaccination room of the children's clinic is carried out. How is it arranged?
What is the work of a nurse in the vaccination room of a children's clinic?
Responsibilities of a Nurse
The daily activities of the vaccination cabinet are based on several principles:
- Reliable and complete registration of children who live in a certain territory, as well as the presence of medical documents on each of them.
- Vaccination planning.
- Strict registration of children who were not vaccinated on time and who received vaccinations.
- Provision of vaccine preparations to treatment and prevention organizations in compliance with vaccine storage and transportation standards.
- Reporting (by months, quarters and years).
- Obtaining syringes, vaccines and all the necessary materials on the day the brigade works.
- Receiving funds against shock and ensuring their timely replenishment, monitoring expiration dates.
- Ensuring the normal storage of the vaccine during the working day.
- Vaccination in full accordance with its instructions.
- Participation in the provision of medical care if complications arise after vaccination.
- Ensuring the destruction and disinfection of vaccine residues, as well as used syringes and ampoules.
- The return of vaccine residues and other materials on the same day to the clinic.
This is an incomplete list. There may be more events. It must be remembered that the nurse of the vaccination room of the children's clinic must check the suitability of the drug before vaccinating.
Cabinet equipment
What is the standard equipment for the vaccination room of a children's clinic? First of all, when equipping such an office, one must take into account that this medical room should have a certain area.
A standard vaccination room, as a rule, should be divided into two parts: procedural and functional. The latter (it can be a separate office, or a small block inside the existing room) stores the necessary current and passport documentation. Vaccination is carried out directly in the procedural part.
Division into sectors
In many medical organizations (especially when the institution serves groups of early preschool children), the vaccination room of the children's outfit clinic can be divided into sectors:
- for diluting solutions and preparing syringes before injection;
- for the direct conduct of procedural manipulations.
The total area of these parts in any case should be at least 14 square meters, and in the case of school and pre-school institutions exceed this figure. How is the vaccination room of a children's clinic outwardly arranged? What does that require? We will analyze further.
Lighting
Lighting must meet special requirements, since the work to be carried out in this office is one of the subtle manipulative ones. Together with the main cold lighting there should be several lamps of "warm" light. Their presence is important for the correct assessment of a number of vaccination forms (for example, the Mantoux reaction). In addition, several spare devices are located nearby, in case the main ones fail.
Wall lighting
Together with the main types of ceiling lamps, it is desirable to equip them with wall-mounted appliances, especially if there are specialized devices for servicing infants (changing tables) indoors, good visibility of this area is of great importance. In addition to standard lighting, the cabinet for surgical events (including injection rooms) should be equipped with bactericidal equipment. Such devices are turned on during the current processing of the room (quartzization) throughout the day, and at night, when the office is not provided for.
Cabinet lining
The floor and walls of the vaccination room of the children's clinic according to the equipment standard should be arranged so that the general and current cleaning are not difficult to carry out, and do not leave conditions for the propagation of pathogenic bacteria. Recommended and universal for such purposes is the tiled-tiled appearance of laying the floor and walls. The ceiling is decorated with special lime. Light tone of the floor, ceiling and walls is welcomed for timely detection and elimination of pollution, prevention of decay of facing materials.
Entry / Exit and Window Requirements
The room intended for vaccination should be well protected from prying eyes. This is explained by the fact that sometimes, along with expensive vaccine preparations, there are a lot of vaccination devices in the offices. Simply put - medical syringes. Very often, they are a strong temptation for people with drug addiction.
This category of citizens is often distinguished by behavior that is epidemiologically and socially dangerous for patients staying inside, especially for children. External doors in rooms of this type should be metal, equipped with several locks. If there are several external inputs in the procedural compartment, you must close them all appropriately. In the vaccination room of the children's clinic there must be at least two locks on any front door. When grafting and treatment rooms are located on the first or second floors, grilles must be installed on the windows.
Documentation of the vaccination room of a children's clinic
When a medical facility is small, the treatment room is often used not only for vaccinations. In other words, a planned vaccination is carried out in this room, as well as the introduction of other medicines prescribed by a doctor (vitamins, antibiotics, etc.). Different types of vaccinations in this case are carried out on certain days, intended for each subspecies, or in time. Each action of a nurse should be reflected and fixed in the appropriate journal, taking into account medical procedures.
The vaccination room of the children's clinic should be equipped with the following regulatory documents:
- A calendar of vaccination management and planning for each age group in terms that are strictly set aside for such events, and in emergency periods announced by government agencies when the epidemic threshold for a specific infection is exceeded.
- In the vaccination room, which is equipped according to SanPiN, there must be a license that confirms the right to carry out a certain type of manipulation.
- A magazine for the planned accounting of any manipulations that are carried out in this medical room, including vaccinations (forms 026 / y, 025 / y, 025-1 / y, 112 / y and others, established separately by the institution).
- Log-book of used funds (ampoules, needles, syringes, etc.).
- Consumables Magazine.
- Magazine taking into account the receipt of products containing alcohol.
- The schedule of preventive vaccinations for employees of this medical institution both in the generally accepted manner and in the individual special case (the vaccination ends in accordance with the information in the individual medical book).
- Journal of the functioning of the bactericidal lamp.
- A magazine that takes into account the consumption of additional medications (when combining the treatment room and the vaccination room).
- The log of the working condition of refrigeration units.
- Magazine for general and current cleaning in the vaccination (treatment) room.
- A log of the operation of autoclaves or sterilization cabinets (if available).
- Vaccination logbook for any vaccine category, taking into account the remaining funds.

Not everyone knows how a vaccination room works in a children's clinic.
Equipping with informative documents
Together with all documents that reflect the current working moments of any vaccination room, it should also be equipped with documentation of an informative type. These include:
- Job description of a nurse.
- Instructions for the case of an acute allergic reaction in a patient - should hang above the treatment table on the wall.
- Notebook on the transfer of information on the transfer of the vaccine by certain patients, orders of the boss, forgotten things, etc., is kept in random order.
- Necessary phones (doctors, superiors, emergency services, etc.).
- Directories of a nurse.
- Reference books on pediatrics.
- Immunization guides.
- A set of instructions for medical and vaccine products (ideally, there should be a separate folder).
- There may be a list of drugs in accordance with one or another ICD (for example, ICD-10).
We examined the organization of the vaccination room of a children's clinic. Compliance with all the above norms and requirements will ensure not only a comfortable stay of patients in a medical institution, but also complete safety during the vaccination procedure.
