When it was required to conjure the Magic Bridge to prevent the dark army from entering Hogwarts, it was Dolgopups, along with Seamus Finnigan, who completed this task. Neville proved himself to be a true Gryffindor when he provoked an attacking werewolf to enter an enchanted bridge.
The changes that happened to Neville led to the fact that Dolgopups before and after becoming a brave man - these are two completely different people. Noteworthy is the fact that at the end of the seventh book he was able to pull the Gryffindor sword out of his hat and chop off the head of the giant snake Nagaine. Destroying the last crucifix, he substantially brought closer the demise of Lord Voldemort.
