Alexei Nikolaevich Gribov (1902-1977) - a popular actor in theater and cinema of the Soviet era, in 1948 he was awarded the honorary title of "People's Artist of the USSR".
Alexey Gribov: biography, childhood of the actor
Alyosha Gribov was born on January 31, 1902 in Moscow Sokolniki, near one of the freight stations of the Moscow-Kazan Railway. His father had a prestigious driver profession at that time, and his mother was a worker in a tobacco factory. The boy ended his childhood early, as his mother died of tuberculosis when he was only 3 years old, and his younger sister was even less at that time. After some time, my father married again.

With the appearance of the stepmother in the house, the family gradually began to grow, and in addition to Alyosha and her sister in the family, four more children appeared. The family lived modestly, and they often had to change their place of residence. I must say that the boyās father had a rather high driver qualification, which once allowed him to even take part in the famous Moscow-Paris rally (1913). Alyosha often helped his father take care of his fatherās employer's car, completely wash the car and clean it from clogged dirt, for which the boy always received a coin as a reward.
Youth of Alexey
Alesha had the greatest understanding with his grandfather, Mikhail Gribov, Efimovich, who, after the abolition of serfdom, moved from the village to Moscow. Grandfather worked as a railway engineer. To his credit, he mastered the complex technique on his own and then spent almost 40 years on driving steam locomotives. After the death of Mikhail Efimovich, Alexei got the grandfather icon of Nikolai Ugodnik . Throughout his future life, Mushrooms did not part with her and even secretly took with him on tour.
The first real performance, which happened to see Gribova, was called "Children of Vanyushin." The boy was impressed by the performance, after which the children's games of Alyosha and his sisters included productions of his own, on the way invented performances. In 1916, Alexei's father was called to the front. The 14-year-old who remained for the oldest man in the family had to get a job at the silk weaving factory. I had to work physically hard, giving myself 12 hours a day to give out raw materials.
Alexey Gribov: theater actor
Alexey did not quit his job, even when his father returned from the front. In addition to everything, he also entered the working youth school at the club on Ordynka. During this period of adolescence, one of his teachers, V.V., played a huge role in the life of a young man. Baranovsky, thanks to which Alexei simply fell ill with the theater. The teacher studied with him individually, often at home, he prepared the young man for admission to college. In addition, he helped the guy change his factory work to a theatrical position. After graduating from the 3rd Moscow Art Theater Studio in 1924, Alexey Gribov, biography which has now continued on the theater stage, joined the Moscow Art Theater troupe.
Theater roles and filmography of the actor
The play āThe Battle of Lifeā became very significant for Alexei; he played Mr. Cragg in it - his first serious role. Since 1935, the young man began acting in films. Not being handsome according to external data, Alexey Gribov did not play the role of lover heroes. But then, being dense, stocky and broad-faced, he greatly excelled in the image of a man of the people. Alexey devoted himself to the stage with such diligence that even in the smallest role he could not be overlooked. The audience fell in love with the artist, reviewers praised his play.
In addition to small roles, like Epikhodov from Cherry Orchard, Sobakevich from Dead Souls, Chebutykin from Three Sisters, Shmagi from Guilty Without Guilt, and Osip from The Examiner, Alexey Gribov perfectly played such strong personalities other people's fates, like Malyutu Skuratova and Thomas Opiskin. In addition, at the age of 40, Alexei became the first actor to embody the image of V.I. Lenin on the Mkhatov stage.
Outstanding craftsmanship
Talented stage expressiveness can be clearly seen in every role played by Alexei Gribov. Films āEarthā, āGolden Carriageā, āEnemiesā, āRussian Peopleā became highly indicative for playing an actor who perfectly managed to create deep folk images. How subtly he could give what often goes unnoticed in life ā humor, honesty and spiritual wisdom of a simple Russian man! In his plans, Alexei wished to move on, in his dreams, such roles as the old man Karamazov, King Lear and Aesop, which, unfortunately, remained for the actor an unsung song, firmly settled.
Well, the personal life of Alexei Gribov has developed somehow surprisingly and unusual. Once on the street, he accidentally met the wife of his former teacher Baranovsky. A cried and bewildered woman said that her husband had died, and she herself did not know where to go and what to do. Alexey registered a marriage with Elena Vladimirovna, and they began to live together in his 2 rooms of a communal apartment. Whether such an act was dictated by gratitude to the teacher or Aleksey really was imbued with sympathy for a woman much older than himself, no one will know, most likely, of course, both were present. But all their life they lived together, he completely took care of the woman.
Nevertheless, Alexey also had novels on the side, to which Elena Vladimirovna, given their age difference, treated with understanding. From a short connection with the assistant director Isolda, Gribov had a son, who was also called Alyosha. Isolda did everything she could to remove her beloved from the family, but the actor, who promised to take care of the teacherās wife until the end of his life, continued to live with her. But he also loved his son, and as a responsible person, he cared for him as much as he could. Heading the cooperative community, Alexey ensured that Isolda and the child received an apartment.
Unexpected sunset
As an actor, Alexei Gribov was in great demand, his repertoire was full, and with the norm of 11 performances a month, he had more than 20 each time. Maybe this affected his health. Always fit, peppy and never sick of anything, Alexei suffered a stroke during the performance, nevertheless playing this play, which became final, to the end.
The actor lived a few years after that, learning to speak and walk almost anew. In 1977, he was gone. They buried Alexey Gribov at the Novodevichy cemetery. He has the title of Hero of Socialist Labor and many Stalin Prizes for masterfully performing roles in the films āOfficer of the Fleetā, āThe Fruits of Educationā, āKremlin Chimesā, āSolo for Watch with a Fightā and āBrave Peopleā.
