The future boxer Lebedev could not immediately get comfortable in a new sport. Boxing was very difficult for him. After some time, Yegor, his brother, began to walk in the same section with him. The coaches believed that the boy had great expectations, and Denis was regarded as a fighter of little promise.
Lebedev saw how they were treated, and he gradually began to lose interest in boxing. He wanted to quit training, but his father insisted on continuing it. As life has shown, the parent was right. Egor left training, and Denis is now considered a very promising athlete.
Army
Where did Denis Lebedev serve? The athlete continued training in the army. He got to serve in CSKA and met his future rival A. Alekseev there. They trained for some time together and met again in the professional ring.
Lebedev did not serve in the Airborne Forces, but he was given the image of a paratrooper. Some blame the boxer for this image. But he himself says that he has many friends who served in the Airborne Forces, who are happy to see his exits in the ring in uniform and a blue beret.
Career
A career in a professional ring began for Denis on February 27, 2001. He spoke out against the Georgian athlete, Taimuraz Kekelidze, who was also starting his professional career in the ring.
The third fight against N. Melikh brought Lebedev his debut boxing title. He received the belt of the Russian light heavyweight champion among professional boxers. In 2004, the athlete was able to win this title again and decided to leave the ring.
He returned to boxing in 2008 and immediately held several successful fights. In the summer of 2009, he was able to win the intercontinental champion title (WBO version). Subsequently, he defended it several times and received the right to compete for the honorary title of World Cup according to the WBO.
