Biography
Petri Kontiola was born in mid-autumn, October 4, 1984 in a small town in the province of Southern Ostrobothnia in Finland. From early childhood, the future professional hockey player was fond of sports. Despite the fact that the city is famous for freestyle wrestlers, his first hobby was football. His father loved to play it and was happy to teach his son this, but later the boy became seriously interested in hockey, deciding to devote himself and his life to him. He left his native nest early and left for Tampere to do what he loved.
As a child, Petri loved to go with his mother to the annual tango festival, where he danced with pleasure with her. The athlete’s hobbies are quite ordinary and calm. Twelve months later, he was elected in the seventh round, having assigned the number one hundred ninety-six.
In the prime of life
In 2007, 23-year-old Petri Kontiola moved to the United States, where he regularly participates in the AHL games as a member of the team. In the fall of the same year, Petri started in the NHL. However, he did not manage to stay there. Two years later, the hockey player moves to Anheim Ducks.
Before concluding a new agreement with the Russian club, Petri Kontiola consulted with his wife. Photos from the signing of a two-year contract with the Magnitogorsk club Metallurg can be easily found in sport magazines. This was one of the key moments in his career.
