Laura Gevorgyan: mother of famous directors Tigran and David Keosayanov

Actress Laura Gevorgyan was born at the end of January 1939 in Yerevan. In her youth, she dreamed of becoming a journalist, but after leaving school, to support her friend, she went to enter the acting department of the Art and Theater Institute of Yerevan. Studying was easy for Laura, and the first theatrical works more and more inspired.

Fateful meeting

In the early 60s, Laura Gevorgyan met with aspiring actor Edmond Keosayan. Their meeting, according to friends and relatives, became fateful. Once they were both invited to star in one of the mass scenes of the famous painting. Young people became close. A beautiful romance began. After some time, they got married. And in 1961 they became the parents of the first-born David.

In the mid-60s of the last century, Edmond went to enter the All-Russian State Institute of Culture in the directing department, taking his family with him. Already in the capital, the couple became parents for the second time. In 1966, their youngest son, Tigran, was born.

Becoming a creative career

Keosayan did not take off his spouse in his first films - he was afraid of the reproachful eyes of others. Laura took part mainly in episodic roles. For example, in Elusive Avengers. The debut and real role for her was the wife of Kudasov in "The New Adventures of the Elusive" in 1968.

In 1972, Edmond returned to Armenia for a while in order to shoot one of his famous paintings - "Men". The director gave the main role to his brother Laura Gevorgyan - Avet. The wife suggested an insignificant but very noticeable role in the episode where village relatives visit a family of dentists.

Wife Keosayana sang the song "Fireplace Zana", and this was remembered by the viewer. Interestingly, another actress was initially approved for the role, which, due to illness, could not come to the shooting. After were the main roles in the films "Return", "Gorge of Abandoned Tales", "When September Comes."

A family

After the death of Edmond Keosayan in 1994, the actress does not take part in the filming. She focused on children and grandchildren, admitted in some interviews that she had never regretted her decision to leave the movie. Both David and Tigran became directors, like their father.

The eldest son worked on the famous paintings "Three Half-Graces", "Mistress", the younger became known after the release of "Poor Sasha", "Silver Lily of the Valley" and others. The granddaughter of Laura Gevorgyan from her first son - the namesake of her grandmother, followed in her footsteps - she graduated from the acting department and has already managed to play in several films.
