All car owners (both amateurs and professionals) risk some day not at all a wonderful day to be left without their favorite means of transportation (or even a way to earn money). And not because they were inattentive while driving, but because of lovers of easy money. And here is the sad result - numbers have been stolen from you. What to do in this unpleasant situation?
Why do we need other people's autonomy
Reason number one: primitive blackmail for ransom. Here, the numbers with the number of the owner’s mobile phone become the most popular, cars from other areas or countries are in no less demand. Money will be expected on some of the online wallets, a note with clarification of conditions is left on the windshield. SMSs and mobile calls from one-time numbers or street phones are also not uncommon.
The second reason: you need license plates for the car, which is supposed to be used for robbery, theft, attack, etc. And if this is the target, you will not be returned what was stolen (numbers). What to do with this? Only tell "where to" so that at least they do not consider you an accomplice.
The third reason: petty dirty tricks from neighbors, colleagues, in general, those who look at you crookedly. Find out who does not love you so much - you will return what was stolen (numbers). And the last option: you managed to get hold of an unusual number and ran into a collector. Return loss is unlikely to succeed.
Legal process
Room restoration is a troublesome business, but affordable. First, a statement about the theft is written , and it is more reliable to do this in the district department. Upon application, you will receive a protocol and a ticket, it is a notification. The decision is made within 10 days. Then, if you are lucky, a criminal case will be opened. With the received coupon, we are sadly going to the MREO (we leave the car without a license plate in the parking lot), we write an explanatory note regarding the (which they stole) the numbers. What to do next, they will tell there, and in the best case, a couple of hours after completing all the papers, the owner will receive a new on-board sign. It remains to change the inspection ticket (you do not need to go through it again, and this is good) and resume insurance. The procedure is questionable, but conditionally acceptable
No matter how simple the described actions may seem, there are always pitfalls. And in 2 weeks, few people manage to settle all these formalities. Here, let’s say they stole car numbers. What if you need a car every day, if your well-being and your family depend on it? It will be easiest if the signs are stolen precisely for the purpose of redemption. Pay the money and get the treasured numbers back. Fraudsters have a good knowledge of the information, so usually they ask for even a little less than you give the state in the form of state duties and necessary payments. But the number will return to you right tomorrow. A sense of resentment will await you for some time, but the opportunity to use a car will return quickly and without bureaucratic delays.
Transit numbers are the saddest case
And if your car is “stripped” in another city or, even worse, do you live in another country? The situation is complicated several times. Suppose, for the sake of ransom, a transit number was stolen . What to do? Try to buy it first. If the number has disappeared without a trace, first proceed according to the scheme described above. It will take a long time to wait, but the result cannot be predicted. So if there is an opportunity, go to the traffic police (registration and examinations department) and write a statement about the loss of the number for issuing new transits.
