Subcutaneous tick

Often a person has bouts of unexplained itching in the scalp or face. Basically, many associate this condition with the manifestation of allergies or stress. However, in cases of increased intensity of pruritus, accompanied by acne and peeling, demodicosis occurs. This disease provokes a subcutaneous tick.

In fact, itching on the skin is an allergic reaction to the vital signs of this microscopic parasite. A subcutaneous tick in a person settles in the follicles of the hair of the head, eyebrows, eyelashes. Parasites even spread into the ducts in the sebaceous glands.

The initial stages of demodicosis do not differ in the severity of symptoms. The disease becomes unbearable in the case of a weakened state of the body caused by stress or illness. Against the background of a decrease in immunity, the subcutaneous tick penetrates deep into the skin layers, causing severe inflammation. On the face, its manifestations can look like a protruding subcutaneous mesh or exacerbation of acne. Visible signs are accompanied by persistent itching, usually worse after washing in cold water, drinking alcohol or applying cosmetics. It should be noted that acne only contributes to the activation of the parasite. The subcutaneous tick affects the peri-ocular space, the forehead and around the mouth. There are seasonal exacerbations of demodicosis. As a rule, a microscopic parasite is activated in the spring and autumn.

The disease, due to the unoriginal nature of its symptoms, is very problematic to recognize. It is demodicosis that can be suspected taking into account factors contributing to the activation of an existing illness or infection. So, for example, if the animal has demodecosis in the house, it is possible that its owners have long been carriers of a microscopic parasite. At the same time, an increase in its effect on the skin condition can provoke chronic or severe stress, pregnancy, hormonal therapy, and a malfunction of the sebaceous glands. A subcutaneous tick can also get to you at the hairdresser when using unprocessed tools during cutting.

After a certain time from the moment of contact with the source of the disease, the first symptoms in the form of itching begin to appear. The sensation is not accompanied by any redness or peeling. Very often, carriers ignore the symptoms, while demodicosis begins to progress, causing serious mental and physical experiences. In many cases, the disease is observed in the whole family, due to its easy spread during household contacts. Extruding a microscopic parasite can contribute to the extrusion of acne, in particular, at home without the use of an antiseptic.

For accurate diagnosis of demodicosis, a special research method is used, which is a laboratory analysis of scraping from an inflammation of the skin area.

Treatment of a subcutaneous tick can be quite long, sometimes lasting several years. Given the fact that the disease progresses accompanied by other skin ailments and weakened immunity, therapeutic measures should include the prevention of exacerbations of skin diseases, increased immunity and getting rid of a microscopic parasite.

For its destruction, various ointments are used (Sulfur, Wilkinson's ointment ), which suppress the activity of the tick. Particularly severe cases suggest an increase in the therapeutic effect with a course of antibiotics and physiotherapeutic procedures. It is also recommended to adhere to a special diet, in which vegetables, lactic acid products, and fruits must be present.
