In 1984, the entire cinema literally shook from a new fantastic action movie called "Terminator". The main character is an antagonist, a terminator robot who has arrived in the past in order to destroy the mother of the main enemy of all cyborgs. But a soldier from the same future who is ready to defend the girl and save the world as many times as needed intervenes in his plans. And we all remember his name well - this is Kyle Reese.
Character Biography
The exact date of birth of Kyle is not called. This is around 2002-2004, a time known as post-apocalypse in the film. Growing up, he joined the ranks of resistance soldiers and rose to the rank of sergeant. His boss was a certain John Connor, but Kyle Reese himself did not even suspect that he was his father. In 2019, without any second thoughts, he goes after the terminator in 1984 to save the girl Sarah, whom the robot is preparing an attempt on. Having met her in real life, a soldier falls in love, and a romantic relationship is formed between young people. Thus, Kyle becomes the father of John Connor, but, unfortunately, dies in the past at the hands of the terminator. Nevertheless, he manages to convey to Sarah Connor important information about the future, as well as combat skills.
Sequel Appearance
In the first part of this movie, Kyle Reese and the Terminator are two heroes inextricably linked. One is a positive soldier, determined to save the whole planet. The second is a negative robot programmed to kill and destroy all living things. However, this epoch-making film has a very long "train" consisting of five subsequent parts. Kyle’s role in them, of course, is not so great, but the character himself remains very significant. In the second part of the soldier, Sarah appears for one minute in a dream, as always, warning of danger. In the third, no one mentions him, but in the fourth film, Kyle Reese is again the main character. Only now we see him as a teenager who lives in abandoned Los Angeles. Despite his young years, he fights against cars and dreams of becoming a member of the resistance movement.
alternative reality
The history of the killer robot, sent to the past, for a long time haunted the directors of Hollywood. Therefore, in 2015, Alan Taylor, based on the achievements of Cameron, shot a film called "Terminator. Genesis", where Schwarzenegger also played the main role. But here we are shown an alternative story, not at all like all the previous ones. The character Kyle Reese is the main soldier who goes to the same unfortunate 1984 in order to protect Sarah Connor. However, the world of the past is not at all what it used to be. Kyle is greeted by killer cars and Sarah herself, who already knows everything about the upcoming nuclear war.
The actors who played this character
The unchanging classics for all fans of “Terminator” will forever remain Michael Bean, who played the role of Kyle Reese. The actor appeared in the first and second tape and then broke the contract with the director. However, his hero was pushed into the background, and when he was again "resurrected", a boy was required for the game. Therefore, in the fourth part of the future soldier plays Anton Yelchin, an American with Russian roots. In an alternative reality, or rather, in the fifth part of the film, Kayla plays Jay Courtney. This young actor is a bit like Michael Bean in his youth, which is why he got this role. However, fans of the original “Terminator” still disliked the continuation with an alternative ending, however, like all the actors who played there.
Temporary confusion
Film fans are well aware that Kyle Reese was the first major character to raise the issue of temporal paradoxes. By reviewing science fiction films, we are becoming more and more convinced that time travel is an activity that has enormous, sometimes inexplicable consequences. By changing a small detail in the past, you can completely change the present. This is exactly what they show us in Terminator. The original plan is to kill Sarah Connor, because she is the mother of John, the main enemy of robots. Future cars believed that by removing one woman, they would deprive the world of a savior, no more. But as it turned out, the world has changed completely, with no chance of a return.
John's father. Who could it be?
This question really makes us break our heads, without giving the right answer to it. The filmmakers themselves have two quite sane theories on this subject. The first is a vicious circle. Kyle Reese, by definition, was supposed to return to the past and become the father of his own boss in the future. If this did not happen, John would simply not have been born. Based on this theory, many began to build entire schemes that tell about parallel universes, which are formed due to the actions of time travelers. The second version of the directors is that John Connor had two fathers. It could be both Kyle and Sarah's guy named Stan Morski, who is mentioned in the film. However, no one talks about where her son’s inborn leadership qualities would come from.
