Reviews

The film received very controversial reviews from both viewers and critics. Many expected a certain logical continuation of the film “What Men Talk About,” and the phantasmagoric comedy of the absurd caused surprise and disappointment. Movie search rating is 6.2, IMDb is 6.1.

Plot

The first frames of the film are shown through the eyes of Garik. He talks on the phone, walks over to the car and sits up, after which he faints. In the next scene, the friends Slava and Lesha come to their senses in a strange place. They obviously had a fun night, drank a lot and don't remember anything. At first, the heroes believe that they got into Garik’s house, but he soon announces himself and it turns out that no one knows where they are and how they got there.

Friends begin to explore the room and find themselves in a very strange place - this is a house consisting of many corridors and rooms, without windows and doors. In the rooms they find wreaths, a coffin and a memorial table.

Over time, other perplexed characters also begin to appear - the trance of Gena (Madame Julie), whom the guys found in the club and invited him on a limousine ride, the drunk inspector of the traffic police who caught him on the road, his classmate Edik, who was met at the airport, and the prostitute Lena from an intimate salon.

Together, the heroes are trying to restore the events of last night and understand where they are. Versions arise one after another and gradually the characters come to the conclusion that they died together in an accident. They begin to reflect on their loved ones, life, death and the afterlife.

The last to appear is a man in a rabbit costume, flashed in the memories of heroes. It turns out that this is a drug dealer who sold the company a certain substance, a side effect of which is memory loss, and everyone is in a strange house built by his father. A window and a door appear at the end of the room.

But at this moment the heroes begin to think about inconsistencies of such a version, and Garik realizes that he really died, and everything that happens is as if a memory of his life. All other characters disappear and he, along with the drug dealer, a guide to the afterlife, finds himself at the place of his death, which was caused by a stroke.

Author's ending

The film ends with captions, against which the characters share their impressions of what happened, thoughts and emotions. The last word is pronounced by the deceased Garik.

Theatrical ending

The theater ending includes seven additional minutes, as if continuing the film. Show Garik's office. Glory and Lesha read him a new script - everything that happened earlier turns out to be an idea for a new film. The end with the death of the hero categorically does not like Garik, since the premiere should take place on New Year's Eve and the movie with a bad ending does not fit. Then Slava and Lesha come up with another ending - the film ends with a scene in which the main characters in the office read the script to Garik.

In the last frames, you can see how Garik goes outside and gets into the car. This scene completely repeats the beginning of the film.
