The abbreviation VKS has recently become quite common. But for many people it is incomprehensible. And many are asking a logical question: what is a videoconferencing system? Well, you should give an answer to it.
Definition
The aerospace forces of the Russian Federation are aerospace forces of the Russian Federation. And they are unknown to many people only because they formed them only in the past, 2015. VKS were formed as a result of the unification of the air force (i.e., the air force) and the aerospace defense forces.
So far, there is not even a year for this association. Because the forces began to carry out their tasks only from the first of August last year, when V.V. Putin ordered in his decree.
It is also worth noting for general reference that the Russian Aerospace Forces are under the general leadership of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of our state. And the direct management is carried out by the High Command of the VKS.
And one more nuance - the main headquarters is deployed in a building owned by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. And it is located, as you know, in the Arbat region, in the capital of our state.
A bit of history
So, the composition of the videoconferencing has already been listed above. But many are interested to know: why did the unification of the previously mentioned forces happen? And there is an answer to this question. It is important to mention this when talking about what is videoconferencing.
Last year, Army General Sergey Shoigu announced certain information at a conference call . The statesman said that the combination of air and space forces is the best option, suitable for improving the country's modern defense system. Sergei Shoigu said that if you concentrate responsibility for the air and space forces in one place, their effectiveness will increase significantly. And they will develop more intensively and more effectively solve problems in the space and air sectors.
All this became the prerequisites for the creation of the Russian Aerospace Forces. And we can say with confidence: the solution is the right and logically sound.
Activities
Talking about what the VKS is, one can not fail to note the fact that already from September 30 last year (in fact, two months after the unification of the troops), aerospace troops participated in the military operation of the Russian Federation, which was held in Syria. And their work was appreciated by the President of Russia. Many military personnel Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin awarded government awards.
And on March 17 of the current year, 2016, Vladimir Putin handed the VKS combat banner to the person who is the commander in chief of the forces - Viktor Bondarev.
The tasks of the Russian Aerospace Forces: defeat and defense
Naturally, it is logical to assume that after the unification of the aerospace forces, the range of tasks has expanded. The first thing that enters into it is a reflection of aggression in air and space, as well as protection against blows that the enemy is trying to inflict. Troops are obliged by all means that are within their competence to protect the administrative-political and industrial-economic centers, as well as the most important infrastructure facilities of their state.
Russian Aerospace Forces are obliged to liquidate objects and troops using conventional and nuclear weapons. They must also provide military operations of troops of other types. In addition, their tasks include the defeat of ballistic missiles of a potential enemy, which is trying to carry out an attack on important state targets. Finally, the forces are required to provide senior management with verified, truthful information regarding ballistic missile launches discovered. In other words, about the potential threat found.
That's what the videoconferencing is. A very responsible activity that requires appropriate training, care and endurance. Not everyone has the courage to do so. The people who do this really deserve respect.
Surveillance and control
In addition to all of the above, VKS are required to monitor space objects and prevent threats to our state. Observation is carried out both in space and from space. And if the need arises, you need to parry these threats.
Another task is to manage satellite systems (both dual and purely military purposes). The launch of spacecraft is also included in the list of VKS responsibilities. The troops are still obliged to use all their forces and capabilities in order to provide the military and commanders with the necessary information about what is happening (or is not happening, this is also important) in the air and outer space. And finally, the forces undertake to maintain in working condition satellite systems and the means by which they are launched.
As you can see, many tasks must be performed by the videoconferencing system. This is indeed a very serious military unit. Therefore, serving in such troops is an honor and, at the same time, responsibility.
