Runny nose is not such a rare occurrence in human life. Both children and adults can be exposed to this misfortune, and it is not known which of them is more frequent. It is currently easy to get rid of a runny nose, because each pharmacy has appropriate medications that can ease breathing and relieve nasal congestion. Using such medicines is easy - even a child can do it. However, a significant drawback of such drugs is that a person quickly gets used to them and needs them even if he does not have a cold.
That is why it is necessary to treat a runny nose carefully, because otherwise, the nasal mucosa can be disturbed. Therefore, industrial medicinal preparations must be treated with great caution. But as for folk remedies that allow you to get rid of a cold, they are often no worse, and sometimes even better than pharmacy medicines.
One of these “grandmother's” recipes includes washing the nose with salt. In principle, this method is known to many people, but most of them consider it obsolete and ineffective. Some people even consider this procedure “atrocious”, although in reality this is not so. Rinsing the nose with salt water usually cures a cold after the very first procedures.
In general, what can washing the nose give? Using this method, you can quite easily get rid of sinusitis, acute respiratory viral infections, bronchitis. It helps with polyps and adenoids and even in the fight against insomnia.
So, rinsing the nose with salt water, what is needed for this? The first step is to get a small teapot, like a teapot. In this kettle you will have to pour a saline solution. By the way, to prepare the solution, you should take a glass of boiled warm water and dissolve a teaspoon of kitchen salt in it. In those cases, if a person’s nose is quite sensitive, then in this case, rinse the nose with salt with a dose reduced by about 2 times, i.e. taking not a spoonful of salt, but 1/2 spoon.
Basically, that’s the whole prescription. If possible, it is advisable to rinse the nose with salt water with a solution of sea salt. For it is much better than the cookbook. When using sea salt, the recipe for cooking is the same, however, it is advisable to filter sea salt through cheesecloth to prevent lumps.
In order to start this procedure, it is recommended to sit on a chair and straighten your back. First of all, turn the head to the left, and put the teapot with water on the palm of your right hand and start pouring water from the nose into the right nostril. It is necessary to fill in so that the water, having passed the right nostril, begins to pour out through the left. Then, take the kettle in your left hand and start pouring water into the left nostril in the same way.
I must say that it is very important to choose the right head tilt. That is, if the head is thrown back strongly, then water can easily penetrate the throat, which will cause a cough. It is very important to rinse your nose with all the contents of the kettle. At the same time, you do not need to interrupt breathing, because you can breathe perfectly with your mouth for several minutes.
It is very important that the washing of the nose with salt water is carried out in the cleaned nostrils. Therefore, if a runny nose is strong, then before you start this procedure, it is recommended to drip a few drops of a cold in your nose.
After the washing process is completed, you need to stand up straight, bend the body at a right angle and, with your hands behind your back, begin to tilt your head in different directions so that the rest of the water comes out completely from the nose.
After the first rinse, the second must be done. But only spend it better every other day. The general course of such procedures is 4-5 times. Then take a break for about 7 days and repeat the course again. As a rule, a positive effect is observed after the 4th course.
