Calcium for pregnant women

Pregnancy is not only the development of a new organism in the womb of a woman, but also its construction, which, in turn, means that the future mom will not do without the necessary "building materials".

In order for the bones and cartilage of the future baby to be strong, they need a lot of calcium, which is the basis of the musculoskeletal system of the child.

Calcium for pregnant women plays two roles at once: firstly, it protects the future baby from rickets, the mother from all kinds of stresses, and it also has the ability to neutralize the effects of harmful environmental factors. It is his presence that is the main condition for the normal functioning of the coagulant circulatory system, as well as the full functioning of the kidneys, and it is he who helps the process of digestion and renal activity, affects cell division.

Moreover, taking calcium during pregnancy, the expectant mother will be able to keep her teeth healthy, minimize the number of seizures, and also reduce the risk of miscarriage and early birth.

It is one of the main trace elements, the lack of which can lead to a slow growth of the baby, abnormal development: the child will later start walking, his fontanel will not close for a very long time, teeth will later be cut.

It is calcium for pregnant women, so necessary for them, that is the most important element for the work of muscle organs - the uterus or the heart. And if the woman in labor in the body will miss him, then the birth is unlikely to go quietly.

Pregnant calcium should be obtained with every meal. For example, a future mother can eat one hundred grams of low-fat cottage cheese with fruit for breakfast, have a few pieces of cheese at noon, drink a portion of yogurt for a mid-afternoon snack, and a glass of milk or kefir at night before bedtime. Sometimes dairy products can be replaced with others - those in which there is also a lot of calcium, for example, raisins, cabbage, green beans, dried apricots, spinach, prunes, dates, peaches, grapes, strawberries, carrots, beets, etc.

Calcium for pregnant women must be taken per day in an amount of about 1500 mg. In this case, the fetus takes its “portion”, depending on the trimester of its intrauterine stay.

Every fifth expectant mother already for the eighth month suffers a significant lack of this microelement. This is manifested in dry flaky skin, brittle nails with transverse grooves, caries, and stiff and split ends.

Such a valuable element as calcium will not be enough for all those who prefer to eat foods that interfere with its absorption: such as semolina, white bread, pasta, coffee, cocoa, spinach, soda, etc. While phosphorus, magnesium, vitamin D - fish oil, egg yolk, cod liver keep it in the body .

Based on this, doctors recommend that pregnant women take complex preparations in advance, which can compensate for the deficiency of this much-needed trace element. These are various multivitamins - “Calcium D3 Nycomed”, “Kaltsinova”, “Materna”, etc.

At the same time, the future mother should remember that she receives a certain amount with food, so the daily dosage of the drug should be calculated based on this fact. Otherwise, there may be an overabundance of this trace element, which by the sixth month of pregnancy can lead to calcification of the placenta, which will entail the most unpredictable consequences.

Today, a lot of such drugs are produced, however, only a doctor can correctly advise which complex of vitamins and minerals every woman needs to take.

And if a pregnant woman does not want to drink any vitamins, then she can use a recipe from traditional medicine: just crush the shell of a boiled egg into powder and add it to food.

In any case, the choice is the woman: she must decide in what form to make up for the lack of calcium in her body.
