A wart is a skin growth. This is a small skin tumor ranging in size from a few millimeters to one centimeter. The following varieties of warts exist: ordinary (in the form of small dense nodules that do not cause pain); plantar (cause pain when walking); flat (in the form of small nodules that do not protrude above the skin); genital warts (occur on the genitals) and senile (associated with the aging of the body).
Warts occur as a result of the effects of the papilloma virus on the body. To prevent the appearance of warts, one should not forget about the basic rules of personal hygiene. Do not go barefoot in public places, do not abuse shoes that are poorly breathable (feet sweat in it), try not to touch other people's warts. In addition, a proper balanced diet and commitment to a healthy lifestyle is essential.
How to remove warts? There are several ways that modern medicine offers us. These methods are listed below.
Firstly, you can remove the wart using cryodestruction (or freezing with liquid nitrogen). Liquid nitrogen is applied to the wart with a swab that is neatly attached to a special stick. Freezing lasts approximately 30 seconds. After this, the wart whitens and thickens, and during the week it dries and disappears. A pinkish spot forms in its place. It is worth noting that the removal of plantar warts is more difficult.
The next method is electrocoagulation. The wart is cut off with a thin metal loop. Thanks to high-frequency discharges of current, bleeding does not occur, and the tissues are disinfected. During surgery, local anesthesia is used. After the procedure, expect the appearance of a small crust that will disappear after 7 days.
There is also a laser wart removal. This method is called laser-coagulation. The wart is removed in layers using a laser. Local anesthesia is also used. After this, a recess appears on the skin, which gradually disappears. Which way to choose - electrocoagulation or laser wart removal - you decide.
If the warts are large, then surgical intervention is necessary. Removal occurs with a scalpel, after which a cosmetic suture is applied to the skin.
Rarely use chemicals. A wart is lubricated with alkali, acid, or another specific fluid. It is worth noting that with this method, adjacent tissues can be damaged. However, some warts can be removed quite well with salicylic acid (liquid or ointment). Most importantly, apply salicylic acid directly to the wart, and not to the surrounding tissue.
After you have removed the wart, it is advisable to drink vitamins (which the doctor will prescribe) to avoid relapses.
