Thaddeus Ross is the general and chief of a special squad called upon to hunt the Hulk. Ross is blinded by his hatred of Bruce Banner and is trying to "bait" him in every possible way. He even decides to inject Blonsky into the bone marrow, not knowing what the consequences will be. It is because of the heartlessness that the old warrior often shows that he no longer communicates with his daughter - Betty Ross.
The role of General Ross in the film The Incredible Hulk was played by William Hurt. This actor won the Academy Award for his role in the film Spider Woman's Kiss. Hurt also starred in False Temptation with Matt Damon and Artificial Mind with Jude Law.
