White discharge in men and women

In women, healthy (normal) white vaginal discharge does not irritate the mucous membranes and skin, does not have an unpleasant odor, and has a small volume. In this case, there should be no symptoms of the disease (discomfort, pain, temperature, itching).

Odorless white discharge consists of mucus produced in the glands of the cervix. They prevent the penetration of infection and help to cleanse the genital tract.

Many women begin to feel anxiety when they discover white discharge on their underpants. It should be noted that their volume may be different depending on the level of hormones, age and sexual activity, but, as a rule, does not exceed four milliliters per day. Spots from them on linen on average do not exceed five centimeters in diameter.

Usually white discharge has a medium density consistency. During ovulation and pregnancy, the amount of mucus may increase. When taking oral contraceptives, white discharge is noted in a smaller volume.

A change in the nature of the mucus indicates the development of pathology. Unhealthy discharge can have pus impurities, have an unpleasant, most often sour, smell. In addition, the presence of the disease indicates a curdled, foamy or watery consistency. If such secretions are found, it is necessary to consult a doctor immediately.

It should be noted that very many dangerous, causing serious consequences gynecological diseases in the initial stages are asymptomatic. In this case, only specific secretions can be an indirect clinical manifestation.

The use of alternative methods, as a rule, is ineffective and appropriate only in combination with medications prescribed by a doctor. It should be noted that the independent elimination of specific secretions using traditional medicine recipes is extremely undesirable. This is due to the fact that, mainly at home, making an accurate diagnosis and choosing the right therapeutic measures is quite difficult. The use of "common" recipes can only aggravate the situation by prolonging the disease. As a rule, the consequence of such self-medication is a neglected chronic form of the disease, in which the apparent relief of symptoms occurs. In fact, they fade a little, which causes certain difficulties in the selection of subsequent treatment by a specialist. Therefore, before resorting to any method of treatment, it is necessary to consult a specialist and find out all contraindications to the use of manipulations.

It should be noted that men also often notice white discharge from the urethra.

As a rule, they indicate the presence of pathologies. So, specific discharge of foamy consistency, accompanied by itching, may indicate the presence of Trichomonas urethritis. Candidiasis of this disease is manifested by less pronounced symptoms. Nonspecific urethritis, which developed as a result of infection in the pelvic organs, usually proceeds secretly. Perhaps the patient may not pay attention to its first manifestations: pain during urination, frequent morning discharge from the urethra. The same unclear clinical symptoms are characterized by a chronic form of the disease.

It should be noted that in the absence of timely treatment, urethritis can go into an advanced stage and provoke hemospermia. In this case, the deferent duct and seminal tubercles are affected . Semen is excreted with blood. If these symptoms occur, consult a doctor.
