The film-tale "Three peanuts for Cinderella" was released on wide screens in 1973. This is a joint work of filmmakers from Czechoslovakia and the GDR. Not a fairy godmother helps Cinderella, but three nuts. The director managed to convey a fabulous atmosphere thanks to natural shooting, which took place both in luxurious old castles and in nature. The picture was a huge success with the audience. However, in addition to a good plot and scenery, the actors also brought popularity to the film “Three Nuts for Cinderella” (1973). Even forty years later, this tale is broadcast on television at Christmas in some European countries.
Plot
The main events of the tale are similar to the story of Perrault. In the film “Three Nuts for Cinderella,” the plot revolves around a girl who lives with her stepmother and stepsister. After the death of her father, she practically turned from the mistress of the estate into a servant. An evil stepmother makes poor Cinderella work from morning to night. At the same time, he never misses the opportunity to report or punish her.
So go day after day. But an important event is expected, on the way to the castle, the king should call in to them. While the stepmother is busy with this event, Cinderella decides to slip away and ride her beloved horse, Yurashika, whom her father gave her. In the forest, she accidentally encounters a prince. Preventing him from killing a doe, Cinderella circles him around the finger and runs away.
At home, she learns that her stepmother and daughter received an invitation to the ball at the palace. Since the stepmother’s main dream is to marry her daughter to the prince, they diligently begin to prepare for the ball. An old servant who loves Cinderella went shopping for a celebration. On the way back he finds three nuts that he gave to his pet.
As it turned out later, the nuts turned out to be magical. In the first was a hunter's outfit, disguised in which Cinderella defeated the prince and won the king's ring. The second nut gave the girl a beautiful dress in which Cinderella went to the ball and danced with the prince. In the third nut, a wedding dress was hidden in which she found her happiness with her lover.
The film "Three Nuts for Cinderella" (1973): actors and roles
The creators of the film were able to perfectly select the actors for the main and secondary roles. Thanks to the magnificent game of the entire cast, the film-tale “Three Nuts for Cinderella” was loved by spectators of many countries for many years.
Cinderella
Both well-known and novice Czech actors in the film "Three Nuts for Cinderella" received roles. The main character of the tale - Cinderella - was played by actress Libushe Shafrankova. Her character is a sweet, kind girl with an open, pure heart, who lost her beloved father and is forced to endure all the attacks of the evil stepmother. But despite this, Cinderella is not discouraged and remains cheerful, responsive, ready to always come to the rescue. Despite the difficult trials in her life, Cinderella, steadily overcoming them, meets her prince and finds her happiness with him.
Stepmother
The role of the stepmother went to actress Carole Brownbock. The character of the stepmother completely coincides with the image created by Charles Perrault. In this tale, she is an equally angry, greedy, cruel and domineering woman. She really hates her stepdaughter Cinderella and tries to load her up with hard housework as much as possible, letting go of her only reproaches and comments.
No matter how carefully and well Cinderella does her job, the stepmother always remains unhappy with the result. She deprives the girl of her only joy - to ride a horse donated by her father. She gives all her love, care and affection to her own daughter Dora, trying to find her a rich and noble groom. Ideal for this, according to the stepmother, the prince.
Prince
In the film “Three Nuts for Cinderella” (1973), actor Pavel Travnichek played the role of Prince. His character is the young heir to the crown. But the future king leads a fairly carefree lifestyle. He has not yet delved into the affairs of the kingdom. He spends his leisure time surrounded by the same, unburdened youths like him. They prefer fun and hunting activities to teachers.
The prince is masterful and very stubborn, but he also has such human qualities as decency, kindness, mutual assistance. Titles and titles are not important for him. He falls in love with Cinderella at first sight, not knowing anything about her origin.
Dora
Douro, the only daughter of her stepmother, was played by Daniela Glavachova. Dora is a pretty spoiled and selfish girl. She, like her mother, does not like her half-sister and constantly offends her, although she herself has never done anything at home and leads an idle and carefree life.
Vinchek
In the film “Three Nuts for Cinderella” (1973), actor Vladimir Menshik played Vinchek. This is one of the old servants who empathizes with Cinderella and tries to help her. It was he who gave the girl three magic nuts with which she became happy.
