In 2015, work was completed to create the second part of the fantastic action movie “The Maze Runner: The Test of Fire”. The film directed by Wes Ball, which was waiting for viewers around the world, disappointed many.
If the first part of “Running” caused unprecedented excitement among fans of the fantasy genre, then the second film made some of the fans of brave gliders bored.
Maze Runner: The Trial of Fire: reviews
If in America the “Maze Runner” has more than enough fans, then not everyone liked the film in the territory of the post-Soviet space. This is evidenced by the reviews of Russian-speaking viewers who published their comments on the thematic pages of virtual cinemas.
Opinions of moviegoers who watched the picture “The Maze Runner: Test by Fire” in Russian (the premiere of the Russian-language version of the film took place in September 2015) were divided.
The authors of negative reviews note that the first film is in many ways superior to the sequel, consisting of unnecessary running around and absolutely not corresponding to the literary work taken as the basis of the script.
The dissatisfaction of the Flying fans made Wes Ball promise that the discrepancy between the film adaptation and the original would be eliminated after the release of The Death Cure - the third film (the world premiere is scheduled for January 2018).
Frustrated users who have not read James Dashner’s books explain their discontent like this: the screenwriter did not finalize the dialogs, the director did not think through the storyline, and the actors played mediocre.
The fans of the actors who starred in the first film and then in the movie project “The Maze Runner: Test by Fire” categorically disagree with all of the above. Reviews by fans of O'Brien, Scodelario and Sangster have the highest rating and indicate that the picture under discussion is still worth looking at, despite the indignation of the dissatisfied.
Dylan O'Brien
For the young American actor, who embodied the image of Thomas (the main character) on the screen, the fantastic theme was not uncharted paths. In 2011, the series Werewolf premiered, where Dylan O'Brien starred in six episodes.
The painting “The Maze Runner: A Test by Fire”, reviews of which testify, rather, to the mismatch of preferences than the quality of the picture itself, is a continuation of the epic project “The Maze Runner”. This time, Thomas and his fellow gliders have to upset the criminal plans of the Porok corporation.
In the foreseeable future, Dylan O'Brien will again delight his fans and fans of the fantasy style, as in his work schedule it is planned to participate in the filming of the third part of The Runner.
Thomas Brodie Sangster
The actor, who embodied the image of Newt on the screen, like his colleague in the workshop, is not new to science fiction films. At the time of the release of The Runner, Sangster’s track record already included such films as The Last Legion, Shelter, Game of Thrones.
Kaya Scodelario
The young English actress is known to fans of the fantasy genre for the films "Moon 2112", "Clash of the Titans", "Moon and Sun."
Initially, the role of Brenda was to play another girl - Adelaide Kane, who refused to incarnate this character, being busy in another project.
In fairness, I must say that the film project “The Maze Runner: The Test of Fire”, reviews of which are presented at the beginning of this article, has more fans than opponents. It is known that Wes Ball was in no hurry to shoot the second part of The Runner, doubting the advisability of continuing the next "zombie saga."
However, two weeks before the premiere of the first film, when the reviews of film critics exceeded all expectations, it became clear: to continue.
