Maniac Spesivtsev is a well-known serial killer and cannibal, operating from 1991 to 1996. He tortured, raped and killed women and children. At the same time, the court managed to prove his involvement in the murder of only four people, the exact number of victims remains unknown. He committed all crimes in the city of Novokuznetsk. Their feature was that he operated indoors. In committing atrocities, his mother helped him.
Killer biography
Maniac Spesivtsev was born in 1970. He was born in Novokuznetsk. His full name is Alexander Nikolaevich. In this city, he remained to live in the same apartment with his mother. In it he committed all his crimes.
About the maniac Alexander Spesivtsev, it is known that he was born with a weight deficit, because of this, he was often sick in childhood. Until the age of twelve, he slept in the same bed with his mother, to whom he was imbued with special love.
He did not study very well at school; moreover, he was an unsociable child. The character always remained gloomy, so making friends did not work. In addition, peers often offended him, presumably, he wanted to take revenge on him for this. In the family, he grew up with his older sister.
His mother worked as a school manager. But she was fired when plumbing thefts came to light. After that, she managed to get a job in court as an assistant lawyer. She began to regularly bring home photographs of corpses from criminal cases, which she liked to consider for a long time in the evening with her son.
In fact, at that time, criminal cases replaced the future maniac Alexander Spesivtsev books that his peers read. Later, at the stage of the investigation and in court, he told me that over time he had a strange sensation when he looked at these pictures.
He had health problems when Alexander passed a medical commission before serving in the army. He was not taken to the armed forces, instead he was sent for compulsory treatment to hospital No. 12 of Novokuznetsk. This happened in 1988.
First crime
The story of the maniac Spesivtsev begins in 1991. It is known that he met a girl named Evgenia Guselnikova. They spent a lot of time together, went for a walk, Alexander even read poetry to her. However, once in a fit of anger he was severely beaten, after which she decided to break off relations with him. What was the cause of the conflict is not known for certain.
Angry about this, he brought the girl to his apartment and locked her there. About a month he mocked at her, cruelly tortured. According to the official version, which is in the case file, the girl died of sepsis. By that time, her whole body was covered with purulent abscesses. Most likely, for this reason, the doctors failed to establish the true cause of her death, did not determine that she was bullied before her death.
On treatment
By that time, Spesivtsev was registered with local doctors. In 1992, the city court decided to send him to compulsory treatment at the Oryol Psychiatric Clinic. He was officially diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Spesivtseva was discharged from the hospital with signs of remission only after three years. At the same time, no records about the discharge in his medical record were made for an unknown reason. Therefore, law enforcement officials for a long time believed that he was still being treated.
About his stay in a psychiatric hospital, it is also known that he was constantly worried about inflammation of the penis, since he himself asked one of his roommates to sew a pellet there. The procedure was carried out non-sterile, which caused inflammation.
Homecoming
Soon after he returned home, the maniac Spesivtsev committed another crime. His next victim was a child, a little girl called Lyudmila. Trying to hide the traces of the crime, he dismembered the corpse in his apartment, and his mother carried out the remains and buried them in a vacant lot.
The next three victims in the apartment of the maniac Spesivtseva was lured by his mother herself. He killed two girls in a row, and the second of them forced to dismember the bodies and eat with him a soup from the meat of his own girlfriend. Spesivtseva’s dog gnawed the bones before her eyes, as follows from the materials of the criminal case.
Detention
Despite the fact that the city was actively searching for a maniac, they managed to catch him quite by accident. This happened during a standard scheduled walk around before the winter heating season. A team of plumbers came to the Spesivtsev’s apartment, but they were refused to be allowed inside. The man explained this by the fact that he was locked because of the presence of a strong mental disorder, he himself is not able to open the doors.
Then the plumbers called the policeman, who broke the door. The men were shocked when a torso of a girl with severed arms and legs was found in the bathroom. They removed a rib cage and a severed head from a tank. Spesivtsev himself managed to escape at the last moment. He managed to escape, climbing onto the roof of his own house. Two days later, Spesivtsev was detained near the entrance of his own house.
Release from captivity
From the captivity of the maniac managed to free the 14-year-old hostage, whose name was Olya. She gave detailed evidence against the attacker, telling what was happening in the apartment. At the same time, her condition was assessed by doctors as serious, the girl was hospitalized, she died in the hospital.
From her evidence it follows that the man introduced himself as Andrei. First, he killed her friend Nastya. At night, he ordered the corpse to be cut so that it was easier to hide. After that, the maniac handed her and another friend a hacksaw for metal, with which they cut the body, and the meat was separated from the bones with a knife. He himself did not take part in cutting the body, but only gave orders and directions.
The terrible procedure Olya was performed together with her friend, in misfortune, Zhenya. He fed his dog with bones and meat. The girls had to take the cut-off parts to the bathroom, put them in the tank and bath. Olya said that at the same time his mother and elder sister were present, who took no action to stop the flayer.
The rest of the days he beat children. According to Olya, his wife broke his arm, broke her head, and after several times he sewed it himself using an ordinary thread and a needle.
Criminal investigation
Even before the arrest of the suspect, law enforcement authorities managed to find one of the graves. It was in a wasteland between the dance floor and the Pedagogical Institute. It happened in June 1996. About 70 fragments of children's bodies were found. Experts were able to establish that they belonged to fifteen children aged three to fourteen.
Around this period, Spesivtsev himself hid, and a series of brutal rape and murder of children swept through Togliatti and the surrounding area. Moreover, the criminal’s handwriting was similar. The culprit of those crimes was established. It turned out to be unemployed Oleg Rylkov. In the period from 1992 to 1997 he raped 37 minor girls, killed four after that. At first, he was suspected of crimes in Novokuznetsk, and shortly before the arrest of Rylkov, it became known that he was going to go to this city.
However, when three more children disappeared after Rylkov’s detention, it became obvious that another maniac was operating in Novokuznetsk. All forces were thrown into his search. Card files of psychiatric clinics were checked, but Spesivtsev did not get into the field of vision of the police, because, due to a bureaucratic error, he was still considered a patient of the Oryol Psychiatric Hospital.
During the investigation, he was charged with 19 murders. He confessed to crimes, but then refused his words, saying that he had incriminated himself under pressure. As a result, investigators were able to prove Spesivtsev’s involvement in only four murders.
Expertise
A special forensic laboratory arrived in Novokuznetsk, since an expensive genetic examination was required to identify the remains. The laboratory occupied an entire train car. However, there was not enough money for a comprehensive and thorough study.
As a result, it was impossible to determine the exact number of victims of the maniac; it has not yet been established. During the search of the apartment, 82 sets of bloodied clothes, about forty jewelry, and a large number of nude photos of children were found. Relatives of the children who died at the hands of a maniac did not identify all the things found in his house.
According to experts on such crimes, the key motive for committing a crime for Spesivtsev was the desire to mock his victims. Threatening them with a knife, he forced them to have sexual intercourse, after which he forced them to pray for mercy and condescension, which caused him a feeling of omnipotence and his own significance.
Court sentence
The court sentence Spesivtsev was recognized sane. For the murder of three girls, he was sentenced to ten years in prison. The following year, during the re-examination of the case, he was declared insane at the Serbsky Institute. By a new court decision, he was sent for compulsory treatment.
His mother admitted that she herself brought the girls to her son, and then buried their remains. The prosecutor's office demanded 15 years of imprisonment for her, and the defense asked to be completely acquitted. The woman herself refused to plead guilty. The court ruled that she was involved in three murders, sentencing her to 13 years in a penal colony.
The location of the maniac
Many are interested in the maniac Spesivtsev, where he is now. As of 2018, the offender continues to undergo compulsory treatment in a special type of psychiatric hospital, which is located in the Volgograd region. This institution with a strict regimen for patients and intensive monitoring is where it is now. Maniac Spesivtsev is located in the village of Dvoryanskoe in the territory of the Kamyshin district.
He must remain there until complete cure. So, theoretically, a variant is possible in which the maniac Spesivtsev is still free. However, according to the assurances of law enforcement officials, in this case he faces a long sentence for crimes in the commission of which he was recognized as responsible. And now the maniac Spesivtsev remains in the medical institution, and there is no information about his condition.
Mother is free
It is unlikely that we will ever find out that the maniac Spesivtsev was released, but his mother is already free. This happened back in 2008. It is known that after this she permanently resides in the city of Osinniki, Kemerovo region.
Many were surprised that the court had no complaints against the maniac’s older sister. Although she had been living with her mother and brother all this time, her involvement in the crimes could not be proved. As a result, she remained at large.
After the maniac’s mother’s release, information appeared in the media that local residents fear that the Novokuznetsk maniacs of the Spesivtsevs settled next to them.
Journalists also wrote that Lyudmila Spesivtseva was begging near one of the grocery stores in the city of Osinniki. According to some reports, earlier she was not able to settle in the villages of Vysoky and Abagur, after which she moved to Osinniki.
