Red deer is considered one of the trophies of the hunter. This is an incredibly beautiful powerful animal with slender legs, an elegant head and chic branching
horns. Deer are able to move quickly, despite the fact that the weight of one individual can reach 340 kg. In summer, deer are most often found in grassy areas, not far from meadows, where it grazes mainly at night. In winter, he chooses those places where there are many small bushes suitable for food.
Deer hunting
As a rule, these noble animals lead a herd life. Deer are hunted in many ways. Some of them, due to their effectiveness, have gained the greatest popularity. Most often, deer hunting is carried out with semolina, they are hunted with a pen, from the approach and from an ambush, with a dog and on salt licks. In some cases, it resonates very strongly with the shooting of an elk, which, as you know, is a representative of the same group.
Mostly deer hunting is carried out in winter and autumn. The opening day is considered the first of September, and the season lasts until the first of January. The traditional types of this “outdoor sport” are stag or semolina deer hunting, the less popular one is the round-robin one. In any case, extreme caution must be exercised, since these animals have a very developed sense of smell: they are able to smell a person even at a distance of half a kilometer. That is why you need to hunt them always calmly and very quietly.
Hunt with mank
In the rut period, males begin to actively search for females. At this time, deer hunting with semolina was best established. The shooter is usually alone, unaccompanied, and even more so without a dog. It is most favorable to hunt in calm, dry, clear and slightly cool weather, so that nothing prevents the deer from catching the sounds of decoy and advancing to the "call". Therefore, the hunter, before proceeding with the direct prey of this beast, must clearly hear the roar of males in order to accurately calculate their location.
A significant role in this is played by vigilance and constant observation of the females: they are very sensitive to all sorts of sounds. Therefore, they can tell the arrow about the approach of production.
The place where the deer should be hunted is preferably taken ahead of time, until dawn. And you need to be located on the leeward side, so as not to give out your presence. Sounds made by semolina should be a tone higher than the roar of the tracked male, creating the image of a younger and weaker opponent. Then the adult will willingly go on a duel. This method is used most often in the fall, in September.
Shooting from an ambush
This type of hunting can be combined with the previous method. A young animal is called up to the rutting ground with special sounds, which is tracked down in advance. Then the shooter waits for him in a secluded shelter, built in advance. Hunting for deer from a hiding place is acceptable on the solonetz and on the main paths along which the animal in question goes for a lodging or watering, as well as on a bed.
However, before getting down to business, it is necessary to carefully check everything and make sure that the routes found are permanent. To do this, you need to spend some time on “intelligence”.
Deer Hunting
T
Am, where there is little young grass, deer do not graze for a long time. Therefore, many hunters resort to another method known as stag hunting. To do this, they carefully follow the herd until his next parking at the bungalow, where you can calmly shoot a previously noticed animal. However, deer, before going out into the open, listen for a long time and sniff. That is why caution and calm for the shooter will not be superfluous.
On the hiding place, prey should be kept as close as possible so that, firing a shot from the nozzle by a bullet in the chest, immediately lay the beast. Otherwise, the wounded animal will run away and it will be unrealistic to find it.
Dog fishing and approach
Such deer hunting is practiced more in light snow. As a rule, huskies are taken on it - the most intolerant and spiteful of wild animals. They are used both for driving prey to sediment with subsequent sonorous barking, attracting the attention of the owner, and just to stop the running beast. Hunting deer in winter from the approach also requires extreme caution, since it is usually not possible to approach a worried animal for the second time.
Prey - Reindeer
In the taiga and in the tundra live the only noble representatives of this genus, in which the males and females carry horns. Reindeers are distinguished by good sense of smell and decent hearing, but poor eyesight. From September to November, they start a race, which is characterized by the formation of mixed herds. Often, reindeer hunting is done in a rather "exotic" way. However, it is possible only if there is a domesticated relative of noble "stag", who is not afraid of shots. The main advantage is that wild deer are not at all afraid of their fellow, so they calmly graze on. And the hunter, hiding behind the body of the "bait", approaches the prey as close as possible and produces an accurate shot.
Sika deer
These are the closest relatives of the noble species. They are less sensitive, so sneaking up on them is quite simple. Sika deer lives in southwest Asia. His character is quite peaceful, however, when clarifying relations with other males, in addition to horns, front hooves and even teeth are used. These animals are very shy, even park keeping does not relieve them of centuries of fear of humans.
From the end of September to November, unforgettable sounds of a roar fill the entire habitat of the mentioned animals. Hunting sika deer during this period is most effective for decoys, year-round shooting from the tower and from the approach is also possible.
