early years

Kristoffer Joner was born in 1972 in the city of Stavanger in the family of artist Ole Carlsen and theater actress Rogaland Annerut Joner. When the future star and his younger brother were still very young children, their parents divorced, and the boys remained in the care of their mother.

From childhood, Kristoffer was surrounded by people related to the theater, as one of his uncles - Johannes - was an actor, and the other - Sverre Indris - a composer.

Study

Norway is a country where theater is loved. There, it is customary to introduce children to this type of art from an early age, so drama groups are everywhere. However, the mother of Kristoffer Yonera went even further: having decided that her son should continue the family tradition, she sent him to a studio at the age of 14 operating at a fairly well-known theater. There he studied until 1990. The students of the studio staged performances and performed in adult productions in episodic roles. Thus, Kristoffer Joner gained an invaluable experience at a fairly young age. However, he failed to get a professional education, since all three of his attempts to enter the Norwegian National Theater Academy were unsuccessful.

Carier start

The lack of a diploma did not prevent Joner from gaining his first important role in the popular series Offshore of the Norwegian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, which was shown from 1996 to 2000. Thanks to this project, Kristoffer gained a reputation as the country's most distinctive young actor. She strengthened even more thanks to his participation in the film Paul Hackman's "Detector", which viewers saw in 2000.

Gunnar Viken’s film “Falling Skies” became a box office hit, and for the role of Reidar in this film, the actor received the main prize of the Golden Swan International Festival in Copenhagen in the nomination “Best Actor”.

The picture tells about two patients in a psychiatric clinic who are in contact with healthy people. As it turns out later, these latter can only be called very conditionally. Reidar is sympathetic to Uni, but the girl does not tolerate any physical contact, and she may experience hysteria even from an attempt to simply shake hands. She constantly asks the young man to help her commit suicide, but he tries by all means to dissuade her from this idea. In parallel, in the film “Falling Sky” several storylines pass in front of the audience, which, one way or another, are interconnected. At Christmas, random events begin to occur , as if repaying all the heroes deserving. In the final, Uni takes Reidar by the hand, and he thinks that he helped the world find harmony with the help of a tennis ball.
