Kryukovo
From Zelenograd to the station. Metro Petrovsko-Razumovskaya can be reached by train in just 30 minutes. Kryukovo railway station was founded in the 19th century . Its name is associated with the heroic events in the history of not only Moscow, but also the entire Soviet Union.

Foundation of the city
Zelenograd was founded in March 1958. The construction of the city began by decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, adopted in the early fifties. According to the original plan, about 65 thousand people were supposed to live in Zelenograd. An area of 11 square kilometers was allocated for construction. Several enterprises were planning to withdraw from Moscow to Zelenograd. However, this idea was not destined to be realized.
According to the original plan, the city was to become the center of the textile industry. Later Zelenograd was refocused on the development of microelectronics in the framework of the creation of the " Scientific Center " . The concept of the city itself has undergone changes in the construction process. Initially, the mayors planned to build up the city with four-story residential buildings. However, high-rise buildings were erected.
The place the name by which it is known today was received in 1963. A quarter of a century later, the village of Kryukovo was annexed to the city. As a result of additional construction, the imbalance in terms of jobs and the number of inhabitants was violated. However, this situation is observed in almost all cities of Russia. Many residents of Zelenograd work outside the city, that is, in Moscow.
Joining the capital
Administrative-territorial reform in Moscow was carried out in 1991. Zelenograd became one of the ten districts of the capital. In the mid-nineties, the city was also divided into districts. It is conventionally decided to divide Zelenograd into the Old and New Towns. It is not easy for a person who first finds himself in this village to navigate. The symbolism of the city was approved in October 2000. The coat of arms of Zelenograd is a shield with an emblem. It is divided into two fields: green and red. Two squirrels sitting on oak and spruce branches act as shield holders. On the coat of arms of Zelenograd, you can see the bandage of golden and silver colors. This is a symbol of two highways of federal significance: the Leningrad Highway and the October Railway.
The emblem of Zelenograd depicts a stylized microcircuit in the shape of a direct equilateral cross. She is on the green field of the shield. The image of the city’s most famous monument dedicated to the participants of the Battle of Moscow is also present on the coat of arms of Zelenograd. Spruce and oak, on whose branches squirrel-shield holders are located, symbolize the forest park zone.

Flag

That is, the symbolism on the flag is fully consistent with what can be seen on the shield depicted on the coat of arms.
Transport
The public transport network of Zelenograd is represented by 26 routes. In 2001, an automated passenger flow metering system was introduced in this city. This was done as an experiment. A year later , the system was implemented in all intracity routes.
The crisis of the Russian economy and the accession of Kryukovo led to the fact that the residents of Zelenograd are sorely lacking jobs. Therefore, they are forced to find work in Moscow. Most residents of the city get to the capital by train. Nevertheless, congestion is observed daily on Pyatnitskoye Shosse, which leads from Zelenograd to the Mitino metro station.
Universities
Medical care and education in Zelenograd are at a high level. There are several universities, among which the most famous is MIET University. There are colleges: medical and polytechnic.
Zelenograd is a young city . Within it, of course, there are no ancient churches. Most of the religious buildings were built in 2000. The main Orthodox church of the city is the Church of St. Nicholas, located in the fifth microdistrict.
