Glushchenko Mikhail Ivanovich: biography, family and photos

Former athlete, deputy and criminal authority, it would seem that these words are largely contradictory and cannot be found in the description of one person, but this is actually true. Many people simply could not believe that the State Duma deputy from the LDPR, Mikhail Glushchenko, occupies far from the last place in the criminal sphere and has great authority, which he has used in his favor for decades. When he was sentenced to imprisonment in 2013, it was a shock for many, because at his official post he helped develop a huge number of bills that improved the lives of thousands of people. This article will talk about the dichotomy of the personality of Russian politician Mikhail Glushchenko, as well as what led him to the criminal sphere.

The situation in the country

Before directly figuring out who Mikhail Glushchenko is, we’ll look at how the situation in the country could affect his formation. It is no secret that in the late 80s, by the time of the collapse of the USSR, the situation in the country was deplorable. Most athletes who lost their income gradually went into crime, because their strength and training allowed them to get easy money. Strong guys in different cities, uniting in groups, transferred their skills from gyms to the streets, intimidating people and building their small empires. As it turned out, one of them was the future politician Mikhail Glushchenko. He was not the first of the bandits who penetrated the political sphere, but, undoubtedly, it was he who achieved the greatest results in it.

Childhood

Mikhail Ivanovich Glushchenko was born on May 5, 1957 in the main city of the Kazakh SSR, namely Alma-Ata. His family was quite strong by the standards of the Soviet Union, so all doors were open before him. He studied alternately in several schools, but even at an early age it was clear that his soul lay precisely with sports, and he preferred boxing. In this field, he achieved good results, winning several international tournaments several times, and by the age of 19 he received the title of Master of Sports. That is why in 1977 he simply entered the Alma-Ata State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. His career was at its peak until the first crime interrupted her.

First sentence

Mikhail Glushchenko

Former athletes were often judged precisely for rape, because their strength made it possible to get what they wanted. For the first time, Mikhail Glushchenko also came across precisely this. During his studies at the university, he and his friends participated in the gang rape that was uncovered. An athlete’s career with such a stain was simply impossible further, moreover, he was sentenced to 8 years. It would seem that he should have simply disappeared from sight.

Psychical deviations

It is not clear for certain what exactly prompted Mikhail Glushchenko to imitate mental deviations in his behavior, but the doctors accepted his acting game, giving a diagnosis of insanity. After many years, it became clear that his brains were actually in order, since there was only one deviation - a strong desire for women. At that time, doctors didn’t find out whether the high physical exertion or numerous brain injuries that the young man suffered in the ring caused this, but with the help received, Glushchenko was able to avoid prison. Of course, he had to spend some time in a psychiatric hospital for compulsory treatment, but such a punishment can in no way be correlated with a prison for a healthy person. In addition, he was released already in January 1982, so that in comparison with his other friends he practically came out of the water dry.

After treatment

When Mikhail Glushchenko left the hospital, he quickly moved to Leningrad. Studying at the Institute of the Food Industry (by the way, very successfully, since he received a diploma in mechanical engineering), he again became able to use sports as a highly respected person, even receiving the title of Honored Trainer of the RSFSR for raising young people. At the same time, he was already engaged in racketeering. At first, his nickname was Coach, but after some time during the criminal wars as part of the Tambov organized criminal group he was called Misha Khokhol. During this period, Mikhail Glushchenko was detained several times for illegal possession of weapons, but was no longer convicted.

A family

Special information about the family of Mikhail Glushchenko does not exist, since he did not seek to flaunt this sphere of life. His wife's name was Irina, and he has been married since 1988. It is not known whether she participated in the illegal activities of her spouse, but the fact that she owned shares in his companies is an indisputable fact. They had only one son.

Criminal career

Vyacheslav Shevchenko

Looking at the photo of Mikhail Glushchenko, it’s hard enough to believe that this representative politician was really so deeply involved in crime. However, he was a very subtle psychologist, and therefore, studying his wards as a coach, he was able to put together a racket group. As mentioned earlier, he soon sided with the Tambov organized criminal group, and therefore began to receive big money. And then he acted very sensibly, because he did not spend them left and right, like most criminal authorities, but gradually began to develop his own legal business. He had close contact with Vyacheslav and Sergey Shevchenko, who were his partners, and their joint business ultimately led to the fact that during the trials in 2012, the court took a very long time to sort out all the intricacies.

Political career

Glushchenko among politicians

One cannot but admit that Mikhail Glushchenko was a truly outstanding person. He possessed numerous talents, and not only in the criminal or sports fields. He became interested in politics quite early, since already in 1993 he received the mandate of assistant Zhirinovsky. At that time, the career of the LDPR leader was at its peak, and therefore, after some time, Glushchenko was able to get into the Russian parliament. Just imagine: the criminal authority Mikhail Glushchenko is a State Duma deputy. It seems wild now, but at that time he was considered a respected entrepreneur and vice president of the Boxing Veterans Association. This was not even prevented by a former conviction for a criminal offense and a certificate of treatment in a psychiatric hospital.

Political Activities

Glushchenko in the Duma

In fact, Mikhail Glushchenko from the LDPR has contributed quite a lot to the country's legislative system. Being a member of the defense and geopolitics committees, he was not just listed as a deputy, but really worked for the good of the country. His name can be found in a fairly large number of various bills in this area, and also under his control several amendments were made to the Code of Administrative Offenses and to the Criminal Code that are currently in force. To provide a better understanding in this area, he used his own experience in criminal activity, as he was closely acquainted with this area. In addition, he was interested in the issue of protecting the continental shelf in Russia, which at that time was not worked out at all. In the State Duma, he also worked closely with his longtime colleague - Vyacheslav Shevchenko, who was also a member of the LDPR.

Galina Starovoitova

Galina Starovoistova

One of the most important charges brought against Mikhail Glushchenko was the order to kill Galina Starovoitova, who was also a deputy. A prominent politician, she proved herself even at the international level, having received a number of medals and titles, including professors at Harvard and Brown University.

It is not clear why she crossed Glushchenko’s path so much, but it was he who was considered responsible for the murder, at least as the witness, member of the Federation Council Lyudmila Narusova, who said that the deputy constantly threatened Starovoitova, claimed. However, in turn, Zhirinovsky defended his assistant, stating that they did not conflict at all. However, Vyacheslav Levyalin was officially accused of this as an accomplice, but then the main characters - the suspect and the customer - were never found. By 2008, when the investigation in this case was closed, Glushchenko had not been charged.

End of career politician

When the term of the deputy powers of this convocation of the State Duma expired, Glushchenko tried again to continue his career, but the elections were unsuccessful. In 2001, he again began to engage in entrepreneurial activity, having founded the company "Sound-Ultra". In addition, he also founded the non-profit center Public Initiative, and in 2002 he began to gradually introduce the French boxing system, Savat, into Russian sport, making it very popular.

Death in Cyprus

Another high-profile accusation for Mikhail Glushchenko was the triple murder that occurred in Cyprus. In March 2004, 3 corpses were discovered at the hotel, among them Glushchenko's close friend Vyacheslav Shevchenko, as well as businessman Yuri Zorin. Together with them was killed Victoria Tretyakova, who was officially a translator, but in fact was Shevchenko's mistress. They were beaten to death, and then wrapped in cellophane. He was accused of murder by the brother of the deceased, Sergei, who, as an argument, cited the fact that the relationship between the partners had long been ruined due to the fact that Misha Khokhol believed that his profit did not correspond to the contribution. In addition to the murder, he also added one more charge to his accusation, namely extortion of money.

Custody

Convicted felon

By 2009, Glushchenko gradually lost any interest in Russia, and therefore moved permanently to the Crimea. However, at that time he was still considered a citizen of the Russian Federation, and therefore, when he was 45 years old, the man had to return to Moscow to obtain a new passport. Law enforcement agencies understood this fact and therefore made an ambush right in the passport office. He was arrested, and investigators began to conduct business. However, it was not possible to convict him for the murder, as Sergey Shevchenko refused the charges of this crime, leaving only the fact of extortion.

Conviction

The court directly passed March 1, 2012, where Mikhail Glushchenko was sentenced to eight years in prison in a maximum security prison. However, at that time, the convict spoke in the murder case of Galina Starovoitova. He declared Glushchenko as the customer of the crime. By 2014, he had truly pleaded guilty to this crime by uttering sincere repentance. This helped him even at the pre-trial stage, having concluded a deal with the investigation, to avoid life imprisonment.

Along with this, he underwent a polygraph procedure, where he confirmed the correctness of his testimony, which stated that the order for the murder on his part was due to fear for his own life. According to him, the head of the Tambov organized criminal group Vladimir Kumarin forced him to do this, and the life of the former boxer was the payment for this crime. Additionally, the term of Glushchenko was increased by 17 years. During this process, the man completely remembered his artistic data, which had long helped him escape from the term. He acted out attacks of a hypertensive crisis and various mental deviations which forced the court to summon resuscitation teams to him right during meetings. But in the end, justice could not be softened.

Conclusion

Glushchenko now

Peacekeeper and criminal, authority and deputy Mikhail Glushchenko is a truly very intelligent person who could hide from justice for a long time and even be considered a very influential person in the country.
