Infectious disease prevention: boosting immunity

The theme "Infectious diseases and their prevention" has been raised by specialists for a long time. Outbreaks of epidemics of infection, unfortunately, occur almost annually in the autumn-winter period, when the human body undergoes hypothermia. Some people with weakened immunity, even if they are not cold, become infected from carriers of the infection quite often. This happens to them due to non-implementation of measures aimed at improving the protective properties of the immune system.

What is an infection?

Prevention of infectious diseases depends in part on the nature of the infection from which we want to protect our body.

An infection is a defeat of a living organism by microorganisms (bacteria, fungi and protozoa), viruses and prions. There are several types of it, which depend on the location of bacteria, the pathogenicity of microorganisms, as well as the protective ability of the body:

  • local Occurs when local tissue damage by microbes occurs. Most often, it develops at the site of the microbe and is accompanied by severe inflammation. This species is represented by tonsillitis, diphtheria;
  • common. It happens when microorganisms enter the bloodstream. First, the microbe enters the tissue, multiplies at the site of penetration, and then it enters the bloodstream, which is why universal infection occurs. This is characteristic of influenza, syphilis, tuberculosis;
  • latent. In this type of infection, the microorganism multiplies in the body, initially without causing any symptoms. Examples are chronic gonorrhea and salmonellosis.

Prevention of infectious diseases by hardening the body

The essence of any infection prevention is to increase the protective properties of the body. The immune system is responsible for this, which can weaken under the influence of stresses after taking antibiotics and a number of other factors. Initially, it is formed and strengthened when the baby is fed with mother’s milk, with the help of which he receives the necessary substances - the “building material” of the immune system.

However, if this system is weakened, it can be restored. You should start with hardening in the summer, to accustom the body to adequately respond to hypothermia. To do this, pouring cold water on this scheme:

  1. Do the procedure for the first month every 3 days, then with an interval of 2 days. In the cold season, it is better not to carry it out.
  2. The temperature of the water for the first time should be slightly warm and lower each time.

If you feel unwell for more than 2 days, stop the procedure. Despite the fact that, in addition to increasing the immune barrier, it tones up blood vessels, increases skin elasticity and favorably affects the nervous system, it may not be suitable for all people, depending on their general condition of the body.

Infectious Disease Prevention Drugs

With the help of medication or vaccination, you can increase the protective barrier of the body.

So, there are immunocorrectors: cycloferon, erbisol, immustat, arbidol, which help the body fight the infection. Their intake at the first stage of the development of the disease provides recovery the very next day.

Prevention of infectious diseases using folk remedies

There are effective recipes for enhancing immunity, which can be used at home. We give an example of one of them.

Ingredients

  1. 200 g of walnuts.
  2. 400 g of honey.
  3. 4 lemons.
  4. 100 g of raisins.
  5. 50 g dried apricots.

Cooking method

  • chop nuts, lemons (with peel), raisins and dried apricots. For this, you can use a meat grinder;
  • mix them and add honey;
  • let it brew for 1 week in the refrigerator. It is important that the mixture is in a glass container;
  • you need to take this tool 1 tablespoon 3 times a day for a month. If you are allergic to one of the components, you can not take the mixture.

Thus, we learned that there are many ways to increase the protective properties of the immune system. If the prevention of infectious diseases occurs regularly, then for a long time you can forget about what an infection is.
