Lana Lang is a fictional character in the Smallville series, based on Superman comics. In most seasons of the series, Lana becomes the main female character, thanks to her friendship and relationship with Clark Kent. The script of the series differs from the original comics, however, the character of Lana Lang received the greatest recognition after the series “Smallville Secrets”.
Character childhood and youth
Lana's parents died during a meteor shower, when the girl was still a child. After that, she was raised by Aunt Nell. As a teenager, a girl often comes to the grave of her parents and talks to them. She also constantly wears a pendant from a fragment of a meteorite that killed her family. After a while, Lana Lang finds out that her real biological father was Henry Small, which was confirmed by the results of the examination. But Henry's wife did not approve of his communication with his daughter.
Lana becomes the captain of the support group, and also meets with the captain of the school's football team, Whitney Fordman. Lana is unhappy with her life and is constantly looking for ways to change her. So she leaves the support group and decides to actively engage in social activities - to help with blood collection, as well as work in a nursing home.
When Aunt Nell wants to sell a flower shop and movie theater where Lana's parents met, she tries to save the building. With the help of Lex Luthor, Lana becomes the mistress of the Talon Cafe. Later, she leaves to study in Paris, where she begins to meet with Jason Teague, after which they return to Smallville together.
Relationship with Clark Kent
Although Clark and Lana are sympathetic to each other, Clark's secrets and life circumstances prevent them from being together. Even when Whitney Fordman joined the army and Lana became free, Clark was still just a friend to her. In one of the episodes, Clark loses his strength, and this gives him the opportunity to meet with Lana, as the most ordinary person. But without the ability, he cannot protect his loved ones, so he regains his strength.
When Clark nevertheless decided to entrust his secret to Lana, they became really close. But after that, she died in an accident - due to the fact that the girl found out Clark's secret, she was in danger. Clark was able to turn back the clock, and Lana began to live, but Clark's father, Jonathan Kent, died. After the incident, Clark broke off relations with Lana, because he wanted to protect her from the truth of his origin.
Relationship with Lex Luthor
Lex Luthor gradually became a friend of Lana. He helped her open a cafe and, despite the losses, continued to finance it in order to give her joy. Although Clark was always ready to help, Lana needed to become stronger herself, and it was Lex who taught her physical self-defense.
Spending a lot of time together, Lana and Lex started dating. When Lex invited her to marry him, she was not ready for this and, only learning about her pregnancy, agreed. Still feeling Clark, she was about to escape from the marriage ceremony itself, but Lex's father forced her to stay, threatening to harm Clark. Lana finds out that she is not pregnant. Lex created the false test to be sure of her consent to the wedding. Lana leaves Lex, for which she has to stage her own death.
Character care of their series
Lana steals a suit from Lex, which gives the person super powers. She receives almost all the powers Clark possessed, with the exception of thermal and X-ray vision. However, the main purpose of this suit is to absorb the radiation infection of kryptonite. Lana’s body absorbs kryptonite, and now she can’t even be near Clark without harming him. Although Lana still loves Clark, she is unable to change anything, so she leaves the city.
Lana Lang (actress): biography
Lana Lang was played by Canadian actress and producer Christine Kroyk. She got her first major role when she was 19, playing Laurel Jung in the Canadian soap opera Edgemont. After such success, she got the main role in the film "Snow White", and also played the episodic role of Fiona in "Eurotour". In 2001, Christine Kroyk auditioned for the role of Lana Lang, after which she starred in the series for eight years.
Her character remained one of the main characters for seven seasons. After which she starred in the series only twice to complete the storylines, where Lana Lang was supposed to appear. The actress, whose photo is now associated with the girl from "Smallville's Secrets" by most fans, continues to act in films and series.
