Explosions can be of various forms and types: from pieces of a bursting ball flying apart in different directions to a huge mushroom of death caused by a nuclear bomb. Therefore, if you want to draw an explosion, you first need to decide which one it will be, and then get to work.
Materials
Before you start drawing, prepare the necessary materials: paper, pencils of different hardness and eraser. To color the drawing, you will need colored pencils, watercolors, pastels or felt-tip pens. For such a pattern, gray, yellow, orange, red and black colors are used.
How to draw an explosion with a pencil?
First, let's try to portray an explosion of cartoons. To draw it, first make a light sketch with a simple pencil. First, draw a barely noticeable circle. We need it to indicate the location of the explosion. The epicenter of the explosion will be in the middle of the circle, so we make a spiral line from the middle to the edge of the circle. On this spiral, we draw elements in the form of an arc that form a cloud of smoke. The farther these arcs are from the epicenter, the more they should be. After that, draw the pieces flying apart from the explosion in different directions.
Now add some details to the pieces with a softer pencil. Next, we sketch the clouds and add a few more pieces from the explosion. Then draw shadows on a cloud of smoke.
How to portray a bomb explosion?
First we determine where the epicenter of the explosion will be, and then around this place we draw four lines in the form of parabolas. Then around the epicenter we draw lines in the form of semicircles. At the outer ends of the parabolas, we draw smoke that looks like clouds. Optionally, you can add lines, make the clouds a little more voluminous and write in the center "Babah!" or “Boom!” to visually amplify the explosion.
How to draw a nuclear explosion?
An explosion from a nuclear bomb resembles a giant mushroom in shape, which means that in order to portray it, you first need to make a sketch in the form of a mushroom. Draw two slightly uneven ovals. One of them should be longer and located above the first, forming a “cap” of the fungus. From the middle of the upper oval to the middle of the lower, draw two curved lines, forming a "leg". Draw an ellipse above the lower oval.
We begin to add details and turn the upper oval into a cloud. Then we also draw clouds along the contour of the two remaining ovals. Add a few short vertical stripes in the center of the "legs" and colorize the picture.
How to draw an explosion in MS Paint?
An explosion can be drawn not only in traditional ways, but also with a mouse on a computer. And the standard graphic editor - Paint is suitable for this. Here's how to draw an explosion in stages:
- Create a new document.
- Choose a dark red color and draw 7-9 circles intersecting each other in random order. You can draw them by hand using the Pencil tool, or simplify your task and choose Oval from the shapes.
- Then, from the resulting figure, draw several stripes in different directions. You can also draw them in pencil or using the Curve shape.
- Draw additional stripes that form an acute angle with those already drawn.
- Using the eraser, we wipe the lines where the circles intersect with each other, leaving a path and several noticeable semicircles in the middle of the figure.
- Click on "Change colors" and add dark orange and light orange colors. Choose a shade of your choice.
- Make sure that the outline of your explosion is closed, select a dark orange color and fill the explosion cloud with the Color Fill tool.
- Click on "Brushes" and select one of your favorite brushes. For example, "Pastel".
- Click on the orange color and paint over the center of the shape, leaving a strip of dark brown along the contour.
- Now select the lightest color and use a brush to draw semicircles in random order.
How to draw a realistic explosion?
If you want to portray a more realistic explosion, then you need thick paper, a simple pencil, yellow watercolor, orange and red-orange pastel chalk, as well as yellow, brown and black pencils. First you need to draw a horizon line on which the explosion will be located. Then, with barely noticeable jagged lines, make a blast of smoke from an explosion that resembles a huge cloud. Make puffs of smoke not only along the contour, but also in the middle.
After completing the sketch, paint it with a yellow watercolor, trying to make the color more saturated at the contours and pale in the middle. Let the watercolors dry, and then proceed to the next step.
Take an orange dry pastel crayon and apply an extra layer of color on some of the already painted watercolor contours. After that, slightly rub the finger over the shaded areas. You should not use oil pastels for this drawing, because it will not work to grind as well as dry chalk.
After the orange pastel, add a little color to the red-orange chalk. Then take a yellow pencil and add small yellow circles. Make the contours a little darker with a brown pencil and draw a lot of small fragments scattered in different directions. Add a little black to the debris. Optionally, you can paint the area around the explosion with black pastel so that the explosion itself appears brighter.
