The prostate gland is masculine

It is sometimes called the "second heart" of a man, but most members of the stronger sex hardly remember this organ until the prostate gland itself reminds itself. But as soon as this happens, the prostate immediately becomes the object of increased attention from its owner. It can be assumed that this attitude to the prostate gland is based on a kind of superstitious fear: do not think about the bad thing so that it does not occur. But to think, meanwhile, should be. Only not about the bad, not about the threat to male power in particular and health in general, but about how to prevent diseases of such an important organ.

A prostate gland resembling a chestnut is located just below the bladder. Its dimensions are small - approximately 4x3x3, and weight in the region of 20 grams. It covers its lower part, "borders" on the urethra and rectum, and the urethra and vas deferens pass through it . It is in it that the sperm base is produced - the secret of the prostate gland, which contains enzymes that increase sperm motility and increase their ability to fertilize. But this does not limit prostate involvement in the sexual aspect. It blocks the ureter when an erection occurs, and due to its nerve-pierced system, it provides a feeling of pleasure at the time of orgasm.

Such an “ally” is hiding inside the male body, but, sadly, the prostate gland, like any other organ, is prone to disease. The most common are inflammatory processes called prostatitis and benign hyperplasia, better known as prostate adenoma.

Prostatitis often manifests itself in young and middle age. This inflammatory process can be triggered by an infection, usually penetrating through the urethra, and non-infectious causes. Among the latter - frequent constipation, overly active sex life, or, on the contrary, long breaks, intense masturbation. Symptoms characteristic of prostatitis are discomfort in the lower abdomen, inguinal region and scrotum, fever and pain during urination and frequent urges for it, decreased erection and accelerated ejaculation.

Adenoma is more characteristic of men who "exchanged" the sixth dozen. This is a tumor, but benign, arising, as a rule, due to hormonal imbalance, as a result of which the normal connection between the endocrine glands is disturbed. The tumor enlarges the prostate, and it blocks the urethra, because of which the urine leaves a weak stream and not all, urges are felt more often. A sure sign - night visits to the toilet.

However, the prostate gland is also susceptible to malignant tumors. Their exact nature has not been established, but the influence of hereditary and hormonal factors is highly likely. Prostate cancer in the early stages manifests itself in the same way as an adenoma, and when the disease progresses, blood impurities in the urine can be detected, symptoms of intoxication and asthenia appear.

Similar methods are used to diagnose all of these diseases - digital rectal and ultrasound examinations are performed, an analysis of the secretion of the prostate gland is taken, and, if necessary, a biopsy and computed tomography.

Prevention of diseases of the "second heart" does not require any special efforts and tricks from men. An active lifestyle and the rejection of bad habits, no matter how mundane and “hackneyed” it may sound, is the key to health in this case too. In addition, it is necessary to detect and treat various inflammations on time, be periodically examined by a doctor and not consider a urologist a “shameful" doctor. Unfortunately, no one has yet come up with an effective way of guaranteed salvation from cancer, but the risk can be reduced by limiting the intake of fats and leaning on plant foods, especially antioxidant-rich tomatoes, watermelons and grapefruits.
