Shellac Remover Fluid and How It Can Be Replaced

Shellac coating lasts longer on nails than regular manicure, namely 2-3 weeks. And since it is so durable, then, accordingly, it will take a little more time to remove it than usual. For this, a special Shellac remover is used. Of course, you can replace it with ordinary acetone, but professionals do not recommend this, since the latter adversely affects the condition of the nails. They become brittle, weakened, lose a healthy appearance.

Of course, to use one or another tool to carry out the removal of Shellac at home is an individual decision, and no one cancels the possibility of using ordinary or cosmetic acetone (and sometimes even just nail polish remover, which contains acetone). The procedure in any case proceeds identically.

Necessary tools and materials

In order to remove Shellac coating, you will need:

  • special winding (can be replaced with cotton pads and foil);
  • orange stick (to remove coating residues after exposure);
  • Shellac cnd nail polish remover (can be replaced with regular or cosmetic acetone, or use a nail polish remover with acetone).

Stripping procedure

Initially, you need to wash your hands well with soap (or feet, if the pedicure is removed). Then, Shellac remover is applied to the special winding and the fingertips are wrapped around it (as in the photo). If cotton pads are used, then they must be divided into two parts to get two thin disks. Each of them needs to be cut to make โ€œhalf-disksโ€. They are also wetted with a product (or acetone), wrapped around the fingertips, and wrapped with foil on top.

After 10-15 minutes, the windings can be removed. This time is enough for Shellac remover to work and for acetone to weaken the coating. The latter after that is easily removed from the nails with a whole film. If this does not happen to the end and individual grains remain, then you can remove them with an orange stick, this is very easy.

After the procedure, it will be useful to apply oil on the nails and rub it with light massage movements.

If it becomes necessary to do a manicure again, you can start it right away, starting with adjusting the shape of the nails.

Instead of a conclusion

As you can see, the Shellac stripping procedure does not take so much time and proceeds quite easily. No special skills are required for this. You just need to prepare Shellac removal fluid in advance, the winding - and you can get down to business.

It should be noted that when using a special liquid, you can remove bored manicure at least every day. It will not do any harm to the nails. This is one of the most important differences (and with it the advantages) of a specialized liquid from acetone and other agents in which it is included. This suggests that the tool does not have negative effects on the nail plates, they remain healthy even with frequent use of fluid.
