Bio-strengthening of nails originated in the Republic of South Africa back in 1988. Ten years later, this method began to be widely used in many beauty salons in Europe. In Russia, a procedure recently began to strengthen nails, in which a bio-gel is used, reviews about it are one hundred percent positive. And how could it be otherwise - it performs its functions perfectly, lasts a long time and is easily removed.
What is a bio-gel
In fact, this is a very plastic material used by masters to create the perfect coating of the nail plate. Bio-gel is made mainly from the resin of a particular teak tree and organic proteins. Also in the composition are vitamins (A and E) and other hypoallergenic substances that are practically odorless.
Benefits of Bio-Gel
Its main distinguishing feature from acrylic and other materials for building is that the nail plate can "breathe" under this coating. This is possible by ensuring free access of oxygen through existing micropores. As a result, your nails will not turn yellow, they will stop breaking and exfoliating. Before direct application of the bio-gel, it is necessary to very slightly gently grind the surface to be strengthened, without grinding off the top layer. Since the coating is rather thin (much thinner than acrylic), the nail and bio-gel retain their flexibility, and the color and healthy shine will not be lost over a long 3-4 weeks. Also, the advantages include the fact that you can use this material for quite some time, even without interruptions. After applying the bio-gel, you will absolutely not feel any discomfort or tightness of the nail plates. It can be used both for manicure and for pedicure.
Bio Gel Nail Coating
Before applying it, it is necessary to do a salon hygienic manicure: file the nails, cut the cuticle, and polish the plate with a special tool. Now degreasing and applying an acid-free primer follows. Then a bio-gel is applied with a special brush, which is immediately evenly distributed along the entire length of your nail, aligning the plate, making it completely smooth. The strengthening material is held by the protein that is in its composition, which, when dried under the ultraviolet light, interacts with the proteins of your natural nail.
In order for the manicure to be more durable, after the primer, you should apply the base foundation, as for regular gel building, and at the end of the procedure, fix with a finish gel that will protect the nail plate from external negative influences, and remove the stickiness.
The challenges of using bio-gel at home
For self-strengthening of nails you will have to buy a whole set of expensive tools and various devices (UV lamp, a manicure device, nozzles, templates, etc.). Although this is a double-edged sword - you may well spend the same amount (or maybe more) on trips to the nail service master. In addition, it should be noted that all consumables are enough for a very long time.
