Ahead of time

The list of Soviet militants of the 80-90s includes a variety of films - controversial, impudent, sometimes not understood by the viewer, but affecting the painful points of society. Domestic filmmakers believe that these projects inherited the tradition of thawing cinema. The best examples of the genre were positioned as “predicting backward” and “dotted lines to the future”. Film industry historians have called them "premature." An example of such work is considered the tape "Assa", "Repentance", "Pirates of the twentieth century", "Check on the road."

Critics of the list of Soviet militants of the 80-90s often include the brainchild of S. Bodrov "The Prisoner of the Caucasus", whose name, no doubt, refers to the classics, but the narrative focuses on the events of the war in Chechnya. In addition to demonstrating action episodes inherent in the genre, the director for the first time in the history of Russian cinema explores the anatomy of captivity.
