About the theater
The Wheel Theater was opened in 1988. Its creator was Gleb Drozdov. It was an experimental theater - the troupe was recruited on a contract basis. Gleb gathered in his theater students and like-minded people. His wife - Natalia Drozdova, became one of the leading actresses "Wheels".
The troupe received its building in a very short time - two months after its foundation. The first secretary of the city party committee was a great lover of art and did his best to create the first professional theater in the city. In the early years of its existence, the Wheel included only classical works in its repertoire.
Until his death, Gleb Borisovich was the permanent leader of his brainchild. In 2000, he died, which was a huge loss for the team. After the place of her husband took Drozdova Natalia. She headed the theater until 2012. As a result of the conflict with the mayor’s office, Natalya Stepanovna had to leave the Wheel.
Today the theater is headed by Vladimir Gennadyevich Khrushchev.

N. Drozdova
Actress Drozdova Natalia was born in the Karelian-Finnish SSR. In 1975, she graduated from the Voronezh Institute of Arts. After which Natalia worked in this city for nine years as an actress of the A. Koltsov Theater. From 1984 to 1988, she served in the Yaroslavl drama named after F. G. Volkov. In 1988, she became an actress in the Wheel Theater in the city of Tolyatti. Her husband was an artistic director there. After the death of her husband, Gleb Drozdov, Natalya Stepanovna took his post.
In 1999, the actress was awarded the title "People's Artist of Russia".
In 2011, she was appointed director of the Wheel Theater. A year later, Drozdova Natalia was fired due to a conflict with the mayor of the city. He decided that it was difficult for one person to combine two positions - to be both a director and an artistic director, as Natalya Stepanovna did. She fundamentally disagreed with him. As a result, the mayor appointed another person to the post of director, and she was left only in the position of artistic director. Natalya Stepanovna believed that it was more convenient for her to be one in two persons and did not want to have any kind of bosses over her that would limit her work. As a result of this irreconcilable dispute with N. Drozdova, the contract was not extended. Following her, the actors left the theater in the amount of 21 people.
