Progress does not stand still. In many areas of modern society, new technologies and methods are emerging. Medicine is no exception in this regard. With the advent of new, modern computer technology, new methods of treatment have appeared that are more gentle and painless. Among these innovations is the operation of laparoscopy, carried out both for the diagnosis and for the treatment of diseases of internal organs.
Initially, this method was conceived as diagnostic, but then it began to be used to cure patients. The laparoscopy procedure is performed under
general anesthesia. Sometimes just
local anesthesia is used. When using
general anesthesia , a special tube is inserted into the respiratory tract to prevent the patient from getting food into the lungs from the stomach.
Actually, the operation of laparoscopy involves how small the incisions are punctures in the wall of the patient’s abdominal cavity, while the incisions are only about 1 cm. A special thin laparoflator tool is inserted into one of the punctures with the help of which carbon dioxide is pumped into the peritoneum - this is done for the surgeon’s convenience . Gas simply raises the wall of the abdominal cavity, thereby increasing visibility and space for work.
In another puncture, special optics are introduced, with the help of which the diagnosed organ is recorded on the video, as well as the laparoscopy operation itself. After the procedure, the recording film is given to the patient. This method is characterized by less blood loss, the absence of postoperative complications and scars.
Laparoscopy is used to diagnose and treat diseases of the abdominal organs - intestines, appendix, bile ducts, liver, etc. This method is prescribed when it is impossible to carry out diagnostics by conventional methods (ultrasound, computed tomography, etc.).
Very often, a similar procedure is used in gynecology - this method diagnoses various female diseases: benign tumors, ectopic pregnancy, torsion of the appendages, etc. In all these cases, both diagnostics and, in fact, laparoscopic surgery can be performed.
Gynecology is one of the main areas in medicine that uses this method.
The gentle method, which brings an excellent result and a minimum of complications, unfortunately, is not used in all clinics. The fact is that for carrying out such a procedure, special equipment is needed, which is not everywhere. Doctors sometimes advise patients to go to special clinics. Of course, this procedure is not entirely free.
Laparoscopy (cost of surgery) may depend on several factors. First of all, this is of course the degree of complexity of the procedure. For example, diagnostics can cost about 40 000 r, and surgical intervention will, of course, be more expensive - about 60 000 r.
Despite the high prices, many still prefer this method of surgical intervention, since it is less painful and is not accompanied by serious complications.
