How Whitening Toothpaste Works

A snow-white smile today is no longer a luxury, but a testament to how seriously its owner takes his appearance. It is difficult for people who do not smile at the others to arouse sympathy for their person. A beautiful smile is a symbol of success and a positive mood of a person. Unfortunately. Not everyone can afford the whitening in the walls of dental clinics, and for some this procedure is completely contraindicated. This does not mean that you need to give up and walk with a frown. To partially solve this problem, a whitening toothpaste with a special composition is used.

Conventionally, in this category of oral care products, two types of pastes can be distinguished : those containing abrasive particles and those that include enzymes and other chemicals that break down plaque. The first group is characterized by a high degree of effectiveness, since the result can be seen literally from the first application. As a rule, such a whitening toothpaste in its composition has ordinary baking soda. The unique whitening properties of this substance are that it simply removes the top layer of enamel, on which the coating is located. Dentists do not recommend the use of such pastes often. Ideally, they should brush their teeth 2 to 3 times a week. Continuous use will lead to scratches, increased tooth sensitivity and easier penetration of bacteria into them. Whitening abrasive toothpaste can be considered a radical measure to restore whiteness rather than a permanent way to maintain it.

The second group of tools to give teeth a natural color uses enzymes and chemicals. They break down plaque without injuring tooth enamel. These include glister toothpaste containing fluoride. The presence of this component has caused conflicting opinions about it among users. Some talk about its wonderful whitening properties, while others assure that the paste has caused problems with the teeth, increasing their sensitivity. In fact, both sides are right. The reason for this is ordinary tap water. If it contains a large amount of salts, then if a toothpaste whitening with fluoride is used, an excess of this substance is obtained, which leads to deterioration of the condition of the teeth. In the case when the water is not saturated with it, the buyer does not feel any discomfort. In the process of using such products there is no mechanical effect on the enamel, but some chemicals destroy it more significantly.

New generation pastes in their composition have natural whitening components and special polymer granules, which, without scratching the surface, perfectly clean it. They are practically harmless, and some of them contain substances such as liquid calcium or minerals that have a beneficial effect on the teeth.

Despite all the obvious advantages and developments, even the best toothpaste is not able to whiten teeth more than 3 tones. This is not comparable to the results obtained in dental clinics. The explanation for this fact is very simple, pastes give the teeth a natural whiteness. In other words, if a person had a yellowish tint of enamel from nature, then no cleaning agent will make him the owner of a snow-white smile. Most of the negative reviews about the product of this line are just written, not taking into account this fact. Another important point is the regularity of their use. Do not constantly brush your teeth with whitening paste! Professional oral cleansers suggest that they will be used no more than twice a week. Neglecting this rule will make any person a regular client of the dentist.
